How secure is password protection for the Outlook 2007 pst file?

Can it be easily cracked through third party password recovery programs?

If it can be cracked easily, what is the point of having a password?

Thanks--Finance_Guy

Allmost any password can be cracked, if you throw enough resources at it..
The casual user is unlikely to get past the password

Depends upon how you define "easily". The PST file password is not
"Department of Defense" secure, but it will certainly deter the casual
browser.

But only if Outlook is not already running - if it is, then a p/w on the pst
is as much use as a chocolate fireguard!
