    - Why did my folders in Outlook disappear? I work with numerous folders and when I get email, often times I will just move it to the appropriate folder....however, the other day when I logged on, 98% of my folders were gone. I did not delete them, they just were not there. I do delete my deleted email folder and junk mail folder every couple of days....but that's all. I have tried to find the answer to my question and still have not gotten an answer. Is it possible for Outlook to just auto delete folders for whatever reason? Please help.     - pst problem I have a pst file of all my contacts and one for all my emails and both are saying they are corrupt. They are for 2003 outlook and i am unable to transfer them to 2003 or 2007 which i have just bought for another computer. My outlook was having a problem on one of the computers and i have since uninstalled it. The idea was to re install but that isn`t working so i upgraded to a 2007. However, the pst file wont load onto anything.     - Question Outlook A person is opening a shared calendar in Outlook 2007. This calander is edited by two assistants in different time Zones. There is the message when one assistant is trying to edit a date. "Cannot update the appointment because the corresponding item in the folder you synchronized does not match this item. To resolve the confilct , open the item. Do you want to open the item now?" The only Microsoft fix is from Outlook 2000 Tools\Options\Preferences\Calendar Options Click to Clear "Always use local calendar" This option is not in Outlook 2007 that I can see.     - Converting OE5 *.dbx files to OL2002 *.pst files (not on same comp Help, please. I have a new computer with MS Outlook 2002 on it, and am trying to move all my e-mail files from old computer. Old e-mail is MS Outlook Express 5. Due to volume to be copied, I've temporarily loaded the *.dbx files onto an external drive, then copied onto the new computer into "holding" folder. But when using the Import function in 2002 Outlook I cannot copy files from where I'd loaded onto c: drive to Outlook 2002 (maybe I'm missing a step?), nor will it recognize the files with the *.dbx extension. I've tried clicking and dropping the *.dbx files into the folders that I've created in OL2002 to match the folders in OE5, but after dropping in, I cannot open using OL2002. Any advice or suggestions? I use computer and those e-mail files for business, so I can't just forget or "archive" those and start over. -- Josie K. I just got OL 2003 setup this weekend as the default email on this old XP SP2 machine, and I think I read somewhere I now need to make sure the OE6 mail is disabled + something else needs to be done in order to use OE to receive newsgroup emails?     - Outlook stops sending and receiving We have one Vista machine with Outlook 2007, 2-3 times a day it stops sending and receiving until the PC is rebooted, after a reboot it is fine for a few hours. I have reinstalled Outlook but it is still a problem. All the other machines have XPP and Outlook 2007 and don't have a problem. Has anyone seen this problem?     - Sharing PST or Outlook Data Files After posting a note saying how I exported the Outlook data from the desktop PC to a back up PST file then importing that into Outlook on my laptop, people posted a link to a program called "OutlookSync". I downloaded it and installed it on both computers. I then ran it on both computers to initialise the programs. I then ran "Sync" on the PC. It created a database file which I then copied to the directory where the sync prog is installed on the laptop. I ran it and "Sync'ed" it. It seems to be working. I presume that when I work on the laptop that if I make changes, say to the calendar, I run OutlookSync and then copy the data file over to the desktop and run it there to update that copy of Outlook. Someone suggested that I could use my HP iPaq as an "intermediary" to sync between the two computers using it and ActiveSync. I thought about this but I shied away from the idea. I was too afraid that I'd stuff something up then all of the data, on the PC, Laptop and the PDA would be corrupted, lost or whatever. This seems to be the easiest way, so far. Boy, what I'd give for a Home version of MS Exchange, something that a simple country folk such as myself could set up and allow all of our computers on the home LAN to run in synchronised harmony, and to be able to use Motorola's ActiveSync across the internet into MS Exchange to sync the data on my phone. While I can do it using the Motorola Phone tools via a USB cable, to be able to do it wireless when I'm not at home would be brilliant.     - Send and Recieve Fix For a long time I had a problem with my Send/Recieve function in Outlook. This happended in both Outlook 2000 and my current version - 2007. I found I had to re-boot my computer to perform a Send/Recieve in Outlook. Otherwise the sequence would start then stop and say it could not perform due to an error. After extensive Internet and News Group research I decided it was time to run a check on disk errors. This Windows XP facility seemed to have fixed my Outlook problem. I did this about a few months ago now and I have since had no problems with my send and recieve. Unfortunately I do have another issue with Outlook which I would mention in another post.     - View Filters Problem I would like to view a task list, but filter out TWO different task names. I have edited the view, gone to filter and added the criteria "doesn't contain" "XXXX". This works, but if I add another line with the same field with a different criteria, it applies no filter at all. I would assume it would display only those tasks that do not contain the first criteria, OR, the second criteria. Pretty basic filtering. Am I missing something?     - Outlook 2003 sending old out of office message with Exchange 2007 SP1 We are running Outlook 2003 with Exchange 2007 SP1 We have run into an issue with some users (not all) when they attempt to set up their out of office response using Outlook 2003. If a user sets up his message and saves it, it looks correct. However, after 10 or 15 minutes it reverts back to the previous message they had in there. Just today, when trying to post, I started getting an error message like this: Outlook Express could not post your message Subject 'Re: power supply explanation'.     - Slow Performing Outlook 2007 and BCM Hi all, I just recently upgraded a number of PCs from OL2003 (connecting to Exchange - not cached mode) to Outlook 2007 w/ Business Contact Manager (oviously cached mode as this is required). The BCM database is on a shared PC using the BCM database tool. I had experimented with one PC taking it off the cached mode and it had made things speedy again, but I can't keep it like that due to the need for BCM. Any clue what is going on here? Is it cached mode or BCM causing the issue? The speed issues range from starting an email reply and having to wait for what you type to catch up, to slow response if you click on another folder in your mailbox.     - Message Stuck in Outbox to Only One Particular Email Address Hi: I have Outlook 2007 and have been using it for about 2 months or so. I have encountered a problem with sending emails. I have sent emails to a particular email address (WinTips-Tricks@yahoogroups.com ) and the emails get stuck in the outbox. The CPU usage is very high (about 76%) and the taskbar icon flashes furiously. If I look in the outbox, the email is also doing a staccato flash. At the bottom of Outlook the send says complete, yet the flashing taskbar icon, and flashing email in the outbox remain. After awhile (about 2-3 minutes) this stops, but the email remains in the outbox. These actions occur only when sending to this one address. I have 13 folders in my imap account.

One folder stopped downloading messages.

It shows 6 unread messages on the folder name, but there are no unread
messages to be seen. Sometime last week, it just stopped downloading
messages for this folder.

I ran Scanpst across the pst file, but no problems were found.

I tried resetting the views, but still no unread messages.

This happened before and I had to redownload all messages - but I have 1 gig
of email in my entire mailbox, I can't keep re-downloading email every 3
weeks.

I think part of the problem is that I have a very slow internet connection
in the country I am currently working in...

What is happening?

I've had this problem many times and the only fix I have found is deleting
the .pst and resyncing all mail.

outlook 2007 still has many problems

so you will experiacne such things until microsoft do something

In my experience, Outlook's IMAP transport has always been its weakest one.
It's very sensitive to the server as well.
