Outlook 2007 & RPC over HTTP - How to save passwords?
Hello,
I think this was discussed some times before but I wasn't able to find a solution.
We plan to change our mail provider and use a hosted Exchange environment for our emails. For testing purposes, I signed-up with our desired provider. Everything works fine except saving the passwords in Outlook for the mailbox. I am asked for the password all the time.
I already tried the following advices (I know some are addressed to Outlook 2003 etc. but I wanted to give it a try...):
http://www.123together.com/Support/save_your_exchange_password_in_outlook2003.htm
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/820281/EN-US/
--> Change NTLM type in registry
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290684/en-us
--> Disable Add-Ins
--> Create new profile
--> Delete registry settings
http://www.msoutlook.info/question/40
--> Delete some files
Unfortunately, my provider isn't able to help me with that issues so I hope to get some help here from the specialists Smile
Thanks in advance

OPEN DIALOG BOX ERROR
In Outlook 2007 - it will not allow me to create a new mail message. An
error message comes up that states "A dialog box is open. Please close it

outlook, it not allow me to shut down - as if I must close the dialog box

What is Anti-Spam Filter.(thunderbird spam filter)
thunderbird spam filter,
Spam is unsolicited and unwanted email. Other common names of spam are
spam mail, bulk email or just junk mail. Today, spam has reached such
monumental proportions that almost every other message we receive is
spam. Protecting the inbox with anti-spam filter has become one of the
barest necessities for almost all PC users.
In a few words, anti-spam software helps detect spam. It is a program
that detects unsolicited and unwanted e-mails, and doesn't let them
slipping into your inbox. The anti-spam program is installed onto your
computer and filters your inbound emails. The email filtering is
carried out based on a number of criteria. These can be specific words
in the subject line or in the body of the message, type of files
attached to the message, images embedded into the message. You could
set the filter to check the sender's email address out. If you have
your own whitelist or address book with trusted email addresses, you
could arrange the anti-spam filter to refer to that whitelist. It also
can detect known spammers by checking a blacklist of habitual
spam.......more

Send button no longer on Message ribbon after reinstall
I recently had to reinstalling Office 2007 Professional RTM after the
secondary (i.e. non-boot) hard drive suffered partial MFT corruption. I was
able to uninstall Office 2007 successfully before fixing the drive and
reinstalling the same version of Office from the same source discs.
After reinstalling, I noticed that the Send button no longer appears on the
Message ribbon like it used to. It used to be located where the Clipboard in
now located on the Message ribbon. Now it only appears in the message
itself, next to "To", "Cc", and "Bcc".
After searching the discussion groups and the regular Office support site, I
am unable to find a way to get this functionality back... nor am I able to
find an explaination of why it disappeared. I was able to find some mention
of changes to this functionality around the Beta 2 timeframe, but these
installs were both of the RTM version.
The only difference that I know of between the installs is this:
The first install include Business Contact Manager. Because I never used
BCM, I decided not to install it when I performed the reinstall.
I would appreciate any help in understanding this issue.

How to change the name of the Outlook.pst file
Creating multiple user profiles. all logon using one Windows logon.
When I setup the Mail Profiles, it creates a PST file each time (good) i.e..
outlook.pst, outlook1.pst, outlook2.pst.
My question - is there an easy way to rename them to the user name i.e.
user1.pst ...etc
The reason I want to do that - I am using the PST password and when it pops
up, it shows the Outlook.pst file name at the top and I would like to have
it the User's name instead. Tag: Where are older inbox emails? Tag: 603211

Outlook 2000: Outgoing mails never appear in Sent Items folder
All,
Here's one I haven't seen before:
I have a client with Outlook 2000 (Yes, I know...), and starting about
3 months ago, email messages they have sent out don't appear in the
Sent Items folder after they go out. The messages are indeed going out
correctly, but that Sent Items folder remains totally empty.
The folder size is about 2 kilobytes, and it is not increasing in size
as new messages go out. It really looks empty to me.
Autoarchive is turned off for this folder. I've run scanpst.exe and it
found no errors in the mailstore file. The View Menu is set to
"Messages," but other settings don't change anything. There are no
Rules set anywhere.
Any thoughts as to what to try next?

Reminder Time vs Due By Field

Reminder Time field, it does not update the Due By field.
However, you have access to the Reminder field and not the Due By

What is the difference between these fields and why does one update
the other but not vice versa.

e-mails never arrive
It's happened now a couple of times. People send me e-mails that I never
get. The person phones me and says, "Did you get my e-mail?"
My answer is "No."
"OK, then I will resend it," they say. "When you get it give me a call."
An hour later I call and say, "Uh, I didn't get it.Why don't you read me the
e-mail address you have for me." After confirming that the e-mail address
they are using is correct, I say, "Why don't you delete my e-mail address,
reenter it, and then send me another e-mail."
Thirty minutes later I call and say, "Uh, I didn't get it."
This has happened to me twice in the last month, each time on a different
computer.
Can anyone help me resolve this anomaly?

Contact information does not appear in the address book
Hello,
I'm running Outlook 2007 on Vista Ultimate.
The contact information doesn't appear in my Outlook address book. So I
followed instructions in this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287563.
However, when I try to perform these steps:
Step 2: Mark your contact folder for use with your address book
1. On the File menu, point to Folder, and then click Properties for your
folder name.
2. On the Outlook Address Book tab, click to select the Show this folder as
an e-mail address book check box, type a descriptive name, and then click
OK.
I cannot do this, because the checkbox is disabled.
Do you know how to fix this? I would appreciate any help.

Domain Name Stripping
Good evening!
I wanted to ask if Outlook 2003 (not sure of the SP level...hopefully SP3)
can perform Domain Name Stripping?
Situation is that a client of ours receives e-mails from a third-party web
site that takes orders on their behalf and then e-mails certain users to
notify them that "your client placed an order".
Well, for the last two weeks now there has been a problem when the client
opens up one of those e-mails and hits "Reply to all". All we see is
"joe.blow@" instead of joe.blow@somedomain.com. Now, if we look at the
headers we see this:
joe.blow@ <somedomain.com joe.blow@somedomain.com>
for each of the recipients...some of whom are internal and some of whom are
external.
To me it sounds like the "form" on the third-party's .asp web site has been
changed somehow. They, of course, are extremely confident that the problem
is not on their side.
BTW - our client is running Exchange Server 2007 SP1 (has been for awhile
now).
Thanks,
Cary

Sending distribution list externally loses formatting
Hello,
I have a user who has a problem with sending Distribution Lists as an
attachment.
He uses Outlook 2003 and was trying to send one of his Distribution
Lists as an attachment. He would open the DL, and then click on
Action -> Forward to send the DL as an attachment. Internal
recipients receive the attachment fine, and can add the DL to their
Contacts. External recipients receive it as a .msg attachment so it
looks like an attached e-mail message with nothing inside. DLs are
sent in .msg format when sent as an attachment, but the formatting is
lost somewhere so that it becomes unusable for external recipients.
This is on an Exchange 2007 server. My company also runs an Exchange
2007 server and I can recreate the same issue with Outlook 2007 within
my own organization (internal works, external does not), so it is not
a user specific issue.
I have tried "dragging and dropping," I have tried "inserting item," I
have tried RTF, but no matter what the DL is always received as a
blank .msg attachment to external recipients.
The user said this used to work, which may have been when they were on
Exchange 2003. Can anybody confirm this is working for their Exchange
2007 setup? Tag: Where are older inbox emails? Tag: 603058

Where Does Outlook Store Info? Computer Problems
Recently the power supply, motherboard, & CPU on my computer died. So I had a new motherboard, power supply, CPU and hard drive installed. The new hard drive is larger and faster than the old one. This required that Windows XP, Microsoft Office, etc, had to be installed. But before any of that was done, the technician took everything off the old hard drive and saved it into a file on the new one. All of the old data files, etc, are supposed to be there. My question, though, is how to find the address book and the saved emails that were on the old computer & put them into Outlook on the new computer? I know very little about computers, except how to turn it on and off, and how to check emails, surf the web, and how to use Word. So any help you might give will need to be in very simple step-by-step directions.
