    - Find a folder I've been working in Outlook for many years but have never come across this. You can't search for a folder. Can you? Well I can't. I made a folder called test, tried everything I could to find it, but it never turned up in any search I did. I have a million ways to find an email, but not a folder. This came up when a friend of mine accidentall dragged and dropped a folder to an unknown location. Easy I said, I'll just do a search... Red face. This particular mailbox has more folders than I've ever seen (about 1000 I'd say) so I really need a way to find them. Please embaras me and show me just how easy it is and what I was missing. Hi All, I have a few Outlook (2003) rules to mark messages as unread and file them in certain folders, but Outlook still raises the new mail alert and puts the unread mail icon in the task bar (even if the message gets marked as read).     - Logo placement in signature I have searched all the discussion groups and cannot find a solution: when I try to place my company logos to the right of my email signature, it shifts all of the signature text (on the left) into double spacing. I made sure the logo settings listed "in front of text" and I did the "delete-shift-enter" and "shift-enter" after each line of text, it did not make a difference.     - emails from other isps My son has a laptop and several times when he has been visiting he has tried to receive and send emails from my house where I have broadband and router. He can access the internet from anywhere in the house but has a problem with emails. He can send and recieve them from his house but not from here. His server is supanet and mine is orange. Is it possible to set outlook up to work from a "strange" server? His POP3 and SMTP addresses are for his house. He does not want to set up an account using orange, only supanet and hotmail.     - Contacts auto duplicate In outlook 2003 sp3 some contacts auto duplicate. I turned off all sync with treo. I also uninstall all 3rd party add-ins. Problem is random choosing a different contact(s) to duplicate each time. hard delete(Bypass deleted folder) ALL records for duplicated contact. Removed ost files. Only this one user is affected.     - What's the risk of Outlook add-ins corrupting the mail database? Hello, Just wondering. Our internal developers are starting to write Outlook add-ins, some of which change sent messages' MAPI properties, e.g., activating the Tracking tab, setting its status to "Read" or "Delivered" with the corresponding date, putting Read or Delivered in the Tracking Status column in the message list, etc. In general, do add-ins like that run any significant risk of corrupting the mail database?     - Search folder return inconsistent results Hi, I have a user running Outlook 2003 11.5608.5606 on Windows XP Sp2 connecting to Exchange 2000. When the user creates a search folder and searches, the results randomly omit sent mails, resulting in gaps in the conversation. We've ran an integrity check on the store and it passed fine, also ran offline defrag. I don't know if this is related but when the user replies to a mail in his PST file his name doesn't appear in the 'from' box, this is only with PST mails. Anybody come across this?     - Outlook 2003 Usepecified error Hi, I am having real problems trying to resolve an issue with outlook 2003 with Word as the e-mail editor. I am trying to forward an e-mail with about 5 pdf attachments that come to about 3mb in size, when I try to send the e-mail I get an "Unspecified error" If I turn off the word as the e-mail editor it works ok and sends the e-mail ok. I have also changed the text from html to plain text but i then get a 2nd error which I have managed to get rid of but readind the kb base article 870707. I have also tried running the detect and repair along with installing the latest service pack but nothing seem to resolve the issue properly.     - Outlook IMAP and Gmail Some time ago I tried setting up Gmail to work with IMAP and my installed copies of Outlook 2003 on the PCs at home. I was hoping that whatever PC we jumped onto and logged into that we'd be able to see our email as if we were viewing them on the one computer. Much like if you had Exchange Server set up. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work properly, ie. synchronising email folders, or having email from various email accounts all going through Gmail. I was wondering if there is any solution out there that I could try. Short of purchasing Exchange and then trying to learn how to drive it, is there an easier way of centralising emails, saved emails, Outlook folders and the like?     - how do i stop tracking of edits (inserts initials)? when i edit forwarded messages or replies (like for staffed packages), outlook always inserts my initials into the edited portion. As I am the proofer for must of the correspondence, I have to often make edits to the original emails but can't seem to turn of the tracked changes.     - Outlook prints in large font only Hello All, I'm using outlook 2007 with Hosted exchange. When ever I print a schedule in my calendar, the font comes out larger then what originally shows on the screen. For instance, I know the font size in my calendar is 10 or 12pt but the font size on printouts is 2-3 times bigger.     - OWA 2003 and SSL Security Vulnerability Hello-- I'm hoping you can provide some direction. We currently are running Exchange 2003 Enterprise with an OWA server in the DMZ. Yes.. I know best practices recommend routing this traffic through an ISA server. There is a trusted SSL certificate on the server and we have many mobile device users. Anyway, on a recent scan, we received the following security notice. SSLv2 Supported This SSL service supports SSLv2 connections. SSLv2 has known cryptographic weaknesses. Secure web applications should only enable the SSLv3 or TLSv1 protocols. For PCI compliance validation scans, note that either or both of the SSLv3 or TLSv1 protocols must be enabled (i.e., SSLv2 can not be the only supported protocol version). They provide the following resolution suggestion: Disable the use of SSL 2.0 if possible. Note that some older client software may not support the most recent protocol versions.     - Outlook blocking our own domain This problem just appeared up this week. SBS 2003 Premium. Exchange 2003. About 30 clients running Outlook 2003, and a couple using Outlook 2007. One user (the owner) using Outlook 2003 has had half a dozen or so emails from within our company sent to his Junk Email folder by Outlook. I set our domain as a safe sender and it shows up in the safe senders list as "@ourdomain.net". Following the examples they use, I tried adding just "ourdomain.net" (no @) but it doesn't appear to be showing up on the list, even after restarting Outlook.     - Outook 2003 and Exchange Server 2003 Hello, We migrated our users' mailboxes from Exchange Server 5.5 to Exchange Server 2003, new email accounts have been added to our mail server, the new email addresses (users) will only display in the address book it you pull down and display them by "all users". We have a "Global Address List" address book that was used with Exchange 5.5. and all old Exchange 5.5 mail users show up in that address book as well in the "all users" address book.     - Outlook Data Files view in Contacts (2007) ... suggestion\complaint I've come across this before and was wondering if my suggestion\complaint is on a list for future improvements. If I accidentally press a key on my keyboard while viewing Contacts in the Data File view, the keystroke changes the individual contact. I recently had this happen while on vacation and the one keystroke changed the last name of a contact and I could not remember the original 'last name'. Suffice it to say, I was screwed until I could find a backup and reinstall the latest pst file.     - MS Outlook and no images (no blocking) MS Outlook 2007 (12.0.6316.5000) There was no problem with images downloading in HTML emails. A couple days ago Outlook stopped downloading images without any configuration change. When I manually right click and select downloading images or even unblock it globally I can see only placeholders for images (red 'x' sign in the square).     - Multiple Vista UA's with One Outlook Calender I have 2 User Accounts (UAs) on my new Vista system that I'll call Work and Play, Work will access the wallaby@work.com email account and Play will access the wallaby@play.com email account - that's easy Work and Play will each have there own Contact List.     - Wierd problem I am receiving some e-mails that are just blank in the message body. When I go to my webmail I can view the message but for some reason the message content is not downloading to Outlook. This is only for a few message and I cannot tell if there is a common thing with the e-mails that are not coming through. Also when I send a message from my Outlook to my office the message shows sent but it is not received at the office. I check the webmail for the office but it is not there.     - Event ID 34 and 35 Found a bunch of older posts but no current ones. I'm running XP with BootCamp on a MacBook Pro, but considering how many threads I've found that's not the problem. Yet none of the solutions worked. To reiterate the problem, every time Outlook opens an Event ID: 34 Description: Failed to get the Crawl Scope Manager with error=0x800101od and Event ID: 35 Description: Failed to determine if the store is in the crawl scope (error=0x8001010d) As resolutions I have installed Windows Desktop Search 4.0. I rebuilt the index, and did a reg edit I found on another post in microsoft.public.outlook and I've removed KB952142 and 947801. I unfortunately don't have KB946963, which others removed to actually fix it. Incidentally when I start Outlook I've also received a "a data file did not close properly last time". I used the Scanpst in the Office 12 folder to fix that. Every time I changed the indexing to try to fix the 34 and 35's, I had to re-run Scanpst and fix it again... Any ideas?     - Why does Outlook keep connecting to my archive PST file? I'm trying to offload some messages in my Outlook Personal Folder. I exported a folder as an ARCHIVE .pst file. In outlook, it said the folder was 300mb. It seemed to run quite a while but finally the PST file stopped incremeting in size at around 700mb. I let it sit for a while and after it didn't increment anymore, I quite Outlook and the archive.pst.tmp file dissappeared. Now every time I launch Outlook, it creates a new '~archive.pst.tmp' file in the same directory as my archive.pst file. Why does it do that? Should I be concerned?     - How to activate message box to reattach removed attachments? Hello, i wrote a script that saves all attachments of incoming emails to the hard disc, deletes them from the email and finally inserts links to the saved attachments into the email. This works perfectly. But afterwards there is a slight problem if i want to forward these mails. If i forward on my machine an email which has linked attachments, Outlooks shows a message box: "The message you are trying to send contains removed attachments.... Do you want to reinsert the original files to the message." (Y/N/C) This is very good. But on my bosses computer this message box doesn't show up. Outlook forwards the email without a warning and without the attachments. My boss and me both have MSO 2007 SP1 installed. No version difference. I normally don't use Outlook so my options should be almost the default ones. He is using Outlook a lot, but i don't know what has been changed. So, where can i find the option that turns on this message box back on? I looked through the options i could find but found none that seems to be related to this problem. Hello everyone.

I have some problems with MS Outlook 2007 and rules in Outlook.

I have Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.

I could'n enable more rules than 6 (or 5 when rule is larger).

I readed this article in Microsoft's Support:

Is everyone know how I can enable more rules than 6?

In MS Outlook 2003 i don't have this problem.

Is anyone can help me.

I find it hard to believe its not a problem in Outlook 2003 - nothing much
changed. At the very most, you'd be able to have 1 or 2 fewer rules in 2007.

It's a limitation of Exchange 2003 and older and the only workarounds are in
the KB article - make the current rules smaller.
