    - Cannot select text with shift key Hi! I have a pretty annoying problem with Outlook 2007 SP1. When I write some text and directly tries to select the text I've written with the shift and arrow key it will not select the text. I can easily reproduce the error by doing the following steps: 1. Open a new mail 2. Tab down to the text area 3. Write "hello" 4. Hit Shift+Left Arrow The expected result would be to select the "o" in the written text, but the actual result is that the letter is not selected. It is the same problem with Ctrl+Shift+Left or Shift+Home. I run it on Windows Vista x64 SP1. When I try the same thing in notepad or word it will not appear. It will neither appear on my colleague's Windows Vista x86 machine. I've tried to change format between "Plain text", "Html" and "Rich text", but it is the same problem.     - Messenger journaling to Outlook I used to have an application years ago that would allow messenger to write a new Journal each time which included all the message and the time the chat took. Many years ago they stopped selling it as I think it did not work with Outlook XP or 2003, I now have Outlook 2007.     - Emails will not send! When I try to send emails to addresses that I know are legitimate, the System Administrator sends "Undeliverable, 553 sorry, relaying denied from your location". I have sent test emails to myself and others with my same email server (feinbergpr.com) and those work, just not the emails to outside servers (example- joe@condenast.com) ?!?!?     - Sent Items - messages do not appear! Hi I have a problem with my Sent Items folder. We had a power failure on Friday 2 May 2008 and ever since all messages in my Sent Items folder are no longer appearing in OE. The folder has completely emptied out. I have checked the store folder and can still see the original Sent Items.dbx file there. What happens now is that whenever I send a message it gets stored in a new sent items folder, "Sent Items (2).dbx" I would like to view my original Sent Item's folder in OE and have all sent messages stored in there like normal.     - Undeliverable! But only certain emails! I'm getting very frustrated! :x I have Outlook 2003 and Windows XP. Whenever I forward a certain type of email (a newsletter from one source, and a link forwarded from another) I immediately get an "email" in my inbox saying it is undeliverable. I've checked Microsoft's knowledge base (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/286106/en-us) but it does not cover my situation. This doesn't come from my ISP. It doesn't get that far. The undeliverable "email" shows up in my inbox, not on my ISP. The message inside says: 550 5.7.1 m46DLijx012817 This message does not comply with required standards.     - outlook now opens twice Weird problem. I have a work email that when I log into uses Microsoft Outlook. I use Outlook Express for my personal email so I'm not that well versed with Outlook. Last week, my laptop started bringing up two identical screens for Outlook when I logged on. I can pull the one screen over to the left to cover up one of the Outlooks so I can still use it, but I would like it to stop. It's strange because if I use the kid's computers to log on, it doesn't do this, so it must be a setting wrong on my laptop, but I don't know where to start since I normally don't use Outlook.     - OL2k7 Acting crazy in win2k8 server Hey there, I'm running a windows 2008 server, and i'm trying to download emails from the pop3 server. however I cannot seem to , I've disabled all firewalls as well as antivirus to see if they were the problem, there is no change. If I move all the files out of the inbox (through webmail) the send/reiceve completes fine with no errors. If I move any small files back to the inbox one at a time, they successfully download.     - How do I search for "No date" flagged messages? Hi all, In my infinte wisdom I've upgraded to Office 2007 (generally known as a 'bad move'). In their infinite wisdom M$ have made the "Today" flag (most important) the same color as the "No date" flag (least important). I want to switch all my "No date" flags to "Next week" flags so I need a criteria to search through all folders, returning only "No date" flagged items.     - Location of Users' settings We are running Office 2000 and are shortly to migrate to 2007. All clients run Outlook on Windows XP SP2. The mail server is outsourced (not Exchange). I want to automate the task of setting up Outlook for users. Items such as User's name, "POP Server", "SMTP Server", User ID and other settings that are identified in tools-accounts. Using a machine set up with Outlook, I've looked through the registry but have drawn a blank. Either this data is not stored in text in the Registry or there's some other control file.     - wav attachment to OE received as text When an email with a wav attachment is received on a PC using OE, it can be opened. However, when forwarded to another PC, it appears as a long random text message. This forwarded email was sent by OE and the receiving PC uses Outlook.     - OL 2003 crashes on macro (Alt-F8) or macro editor (Alt-F11) I posted this problem to the VBA group, but I'm not sure it's a vba problem, so I'm posting it here as well; my apologies. With Windows XP Pro, SP-2, and Office 2003 SP-3: I recently installed Office 2003 (recovering, migrated to a new HD, and cleaning up the mess). I now find that either macro (Alt-F8) or macro editor (Alt-F11) causes an almost immediate OL crash, with no useful error information that I can see. I've deleted vbaProject.otm.     - Filter applied (Inbox) I installed Outlook 2007 to my XP SP2 operating system. E-mails come into my inbox. If I read each one and transfer them into my personal folders then no problem. If I leave Outlook open and go to My Documents to research something and return back to the Inbox, all the e-mails either read or unread go into a "Filter Applied" folder lower left automatically.     - Outlook and Hotmail I have an elderly relative (86) who has a paid hotmail account and uses Outlook 2003, and for whom I do all the IT support. Just recently someone else (grrr) has changed her Hotmail account to a Live Hotmail account. This seems to have had two effects - one, she now has a second set of Hotmail folders in Outlook which has confused her, as previously mails were sent and received to and from the default set of folders, and secondly, she now has terrible trouble with mail sticking in the Outbox. I have two questions - as she had a PAID Hotmail account, was it necessary to convert to a Live Hotmail account to continue using Outlook, given the imminent demise of Webdav access to Hotmail, and secondly, does she also need the Outlook Connector installed?     - Access 2003 + Outlook 2003 problem for one client Hi, I didn't get a reply in the Access newsgroup so I thought I would give it a shot here: Our Access 2003 application uses the SendObject command to interface to Outlook. We have a client who used to use Outlook Express. They just recently switched to Outlook. Within Internet Explorer, they went to Tools/Internet Options/Programs and set their default e-mail program to Microsoft Office Outlook. But the interface between our application and Outlook no longer works.     - Contacts display but not when typing message Hello I had to reinstall my system and now I have the following problem. I imported my 'address book' from a safeguard and it displays fine when I click on 'contacts' But when I type a message and click on 'to', the table that appears is empty.     - Sending Blank E-Mails For some strange reason, Outlook 2007 started sending all my e-mail as blanks. However, the receipient can click on REPLY to open. I have never used any type of signature, encrypted or initiated any kind of privacy measure. I have searched through all the commands, menus and toolbars but still can't figure this out.     - Question on Passwords Why does Outlook 2007 keep asking me to enter my password for my email accounts? I enter them, check to save and the windows pops up again asking me to enter it again.     - How do I unmark private from all contacts in Outlook 2003 I am using Outlook 2003 and a number of my contacts were marked with the 'private' check mark. This has presented a problem in how they are displayed in my Treo 650. My questions are: 1. How do I set the default in Outlook 2003 so future new contacts will not be marked 'private? and 2. I am using Outlook 2002 and I have no wish to upgrade to 2007 - it just
seems more and more complex without any benefit for me.

Yet I do need Word 2007.

So with this combination - I have found that when I want to write a new
email with Outlook 2002 - I now don't have the option of having WORD as my
email editor.

Is there anyway of getting WORD 2007 to work with OL 2002?

Nope.

Just curious; care to tell us your objections to Outlook 2007 a bit more
detailed? Better security and improved email management are big benefits.

For integration between Office components to work, the components must
the same version. If you want to use Word as your e-mail editor, it
must match whatever version of Outlook that you want to use.
