    - Manage styles - can't import When I have a new email open I clicked on the Manage Styles icon and chose import to try and pull my style definitions from my word documents and templates.     - Setting and restricting styles in Outlook 2007 I have spent some time creating Multi-Level list styles in Word 2007 that work great. Now I would like these styles (and ONLY these styles) to be in every email that is created when I select New Email. I tried putting these into normalemail.dotm, but this doesn't seem to keep the restrictions and hide the default styles etc, nor does it keep keystroke assignements as far as I can tell. I then tried creating an Outlook Template and this seems to work, but I can't work out where to tell Outlook that I want to use that template as my default for ALL emails - at the moment I can only select it from File, New, User templates. How do I make this the default when New is chosen? What is the best way to distribute a standard Outlook template with restricted styles in a corporate environment?     - Creating an Outlook network with exchange I am going to be woring for a medium size company and my boss has asked me to learn how to set up an outlook network for the company and be the administrator for it. I don't have much experience with outlook except the use of it for my college account. I have been looking at a few books but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of where to begin?     - Archive workaround!? The company I work for has disabled archiving for Outlook (2003). They also do a mail purge at intervals. (Under Tools --> Options, the Archive feature does not show.) I understand they have security reasons for this, but, with no malicious intent, I'd prefer to be able to save my old e-mails to my local PC. (They are currently saved on a shared company server.) Without trying to get in deep and mess around with the company settings for my PC, is there any kind of reasonable work-around to export or save e-mails (without having to individually save thousands of e-mails from a couple of hundred folders?). I can't find a workaround, but maybe someone knows a trick I don't know.     - Outlook 2007 problem My father's email was spammed and he was blacklisted by his ISP. That problem has been resolved but I cannot get Outlook 2007 to re- establish the account on his computer. Each time when we try "Test account settings" he still gets the blacklisted error message. We tried disabling Norton's without success. I can create the account on my machine without any problem.     - "Enter Network Password" Problem I have posted before in this group and received the suggestion to check out: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=290684 and I did this and followed every step to try to resolve the problem of Outlook wanting me to enter my password every time I open the program and then every few minutes after that. I've even tried uninstalling the entire Outlook program and reinstalling, removing my email account and then adding it as a new one. The problem does not seem to be with Gmail, my email account. When I try to edit the registry to remove the information, there is nothing under the Protected Storage System Provider key. My sign-on information is not being saved, even though I check the box to save my password every time. How can I remove ALL settings for Outlook without losing my mail? I'm not sure which *.pst to delete.     - word attachments on e-mail, docx files, recipient unable to open I have been sending e-mails as I always have and attaching them in the way I always have, all of a sudden word documents are coming up as docx files and the recipients cannot open them, I have only recently gone onto Vista and microsoft offoce 2007.     - Unreadable attachments I have friend who forwards messages from MS Outlook. They arrive in my attachment directory with the label "file". I am able to open and read it using an app named Quick View Plus, but others, who use Outlook, Outlook Express, etc. can not read them. The messages consist of an unbroken string of letters. I don't want to paste the complete attachment, because it includes a number of email addresses, which probably should not be shared. I am understand there may be a setting in Outlook that "may" be the cause. This friend is a highly educated, very nice person, who I am unwilling to allow to think he has no clue, but that is the case. Can someone, familiar with Outlook, explain the exact setting that is responsible for the way this is sent, so I can, gently, suggest he send in a different format, and what that format might be? Apparently, this copy of Outlook was set up to send in this format. Just for the record, I can NOT open it without using the afore said app. If a particular individual should want to see the attachment in it's entirety, I could send it. It's a very innocuous message.     - Nicknames In Outlook Express there is a feature known as 'nicknames' where I can = assign a nickname to my email address, say 'stud'. Then, every time I = type 'stud' in the 'To' box, it resolves to my email address. I can't seem to find this feature in Outlook XP. The address book does = have a field called 'Nickname', but when I enter a nickname for a = contact, then enter that nickname in the 'To' box and press CTRL+K all I = get is "Microsoft Outlook does not recognize..."     - Forms Permissions We are using Outlook 2003 and Windows SBS 2003 (Exchange SP2), we have created a number of simple forms as OFT files and stored them in a shared folder on the network. The users can open the forms by looking in "User Templates in file system" but some users get an error mesage when they try to send a message using the forms, the error message is "You do not have sufficient permissions to perform this operation on this object". If they save the message into their drafts folder first they can then send it, the users have full access to the directory that has the forms.     - Cannot select text with shift key Hi! I have a pretty annoying problem with Outlook 2007 SP1. When I write some text and directly tries to select the text I've written with the shift and arrow key it will not select the text. I can easily reproduce the error by doing the following steps: 1. Open a new mail 2. Tab down to the text area 3. Write "hello" 4. Hit Shift+Left Arrow The expected result would be to select the "o" in the written text, but the actual result is that the letter is not selected. It is the same problem with Ctrl+Shift+Left or Shift+Home. I run it on Windows Vista x64 SP1. When I try the same thing in notepad or word it will not appear. It will neither appear on my colleague's Windows Vista x86 machine. I've tried to change format between "Plain text", "Html" and "Rich text", but it is the same problem.     - Messenger journaling to Outlook I used to have an application years ago that would allow messenger to write a new Journal each time which included all the message and the time the chat took. Many years ago they stopped selling it as I think it did not work with Outlook XP or 2003, I now have Outlook 2007.     - Sent Items - messages do not appear! Hi I have a problem with my Sent Items folder. We had a power failure on Friday 2 May 2008 and ever since all messages in my Sent Items folder are no longer appearing in OE. The folder has completely emptied out. I have checked the store folder and can still see the original Sent Items.dbx file there. What happens now is that whenever I send a message it gets stored in a new sent items folder, "Sent Items (2).dbx" I would like to view my original Sent Item's folder in OE and have all sent messages stored in there like normal.     - Undeliverable! But only certain emails! I'm getting very frustrated! :x I have Outlook 2003 and Windows XP. Whenever I forward a certain type of email (a newsletter from one source, and a link forwarded from another) I immediately get an "email" in my inbox saying it is undeliverable.     - outlook now opens twice Weird problem. I have a work email that when I log into uses Microsoft Outlook. I use Outlook Express for my personal email so I'm not that well versed with Outlook. Last week, my laptop started bringing up two identical screens for Outlook when I logged on. I can pull the one screen over to the left to cover up one of the Outlooks so I can still use it, but I would like it to stop.     - OL2k7 Acting crazy in win2k8 server Hey there, I'm running a windows 2008 server, and i'm trying to download emails from the pop3 server. however I cannot seem to , I've disabled all firewalls as well as antivirus to see if they were the problem, there is no change. If I move all the files out of the inbox (through webmail) the send/reiceve completes fine with no errors. If I move any small files back to the inbox one at a time, they successfully download. In their infinite wisdom M$ have made the "Today" flag (most important) the same color as the "No date" flag (least important).     - Location of Users' settings We are running Office 2000 and are shortly to migrate to 2007. All clients run Outlook on Windows XP SP2. The mail server is outsourced (not Exchange). I want to automate the task of setting up Outlook for users. Items such as User's name, "POP Server", "SMTP Server", User ID and other settings that are identified in tools-accounts. Using a machine set up with Outlook, I've looked through the registry but have drawn a blank. Either this data is not stored in text in the Registry or there's some other control file. I tried to send 1 email (with 4 attachments- photos) to 2 people.
That was 3 days ago and my Outbox still shows unsent. When I try to
delete the file and start over, it tells me that Outlook has begun
sending and I cannot delete. I tried restarting, etc., no luck. How
can I get it out of my Outbox?

You can try setting Outlook to offline (on the file menu), exiting then
restarting Outlook and deleting the item
