In Outlook Express there is a feature known as 'nicknames' where I can =
assign a nickname to my email address, say 'stud'. Then, every time I =
type 'stud' in the 'To' box, it resolves to my email address.

I can't seem to find this feature in Outlook XP. The address book does =
have a field called 'Nickname', but when I enter a nickname for a =
contact, then enter that nickname in the 'To' box and press CTRL+K all I =
get is "Microsoft Outlook does not recognize..." What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Outlook doesn't support resolving nicknames in that field.

Thanks for answering.

So that means that Outlook XP does not have a similar nicknames feature? =
If so, perhaps I could work around that by putting the person's nickname =
in the 'Full Name' field of the Contact properties and the person's real =
name in the 'Display as' field.
