    - OL2k7 Acting crazy in win2k8 server Hey there, I'm running a windows 2008 server, and i'm trying to download emails from the pop3 server. however I cannot seem to , I've disabled all firewalls as well as antivirus to see if they were the problem, there is no change. If I move all the files out of the inbox (through webmail) the send/reiceve completes fine with no errors. If I move any small files back to the inbox one at a time, they successfully download.     - How do I search for "No date" flagged messages? Hi all, In my infinte wisdom I've upgraded to Office 2007 (generally known as a 'bad move'). In their infinite wisdom M$ have made the "Today" flag (most important) the same color as the "No date" flag (least important). I want to switch all my "No date" flags to "Next week" flags so I need a criteria to search through all folders, returning only "No date" flagged items.     - Using rules to forward Outlook email to Gmail - getting forwarded Is there something wrong with the way I'm setting up this rule? I set it up to forward every message I receive to "people or distribution list" and have it forwarded to my gmail address. Now when it gets forwarded a copy of the sent email is placed in my inbox.     - Location of Users' settings We are running Office 2000 and are shortly to migrate to 2007. All clients run Outlook on Windows XP SP2. The mail server is outsourced (not Exchange). I want to automate the task of setting up Outlook for users. Items such as User's name, "POP Server", "SMTP Server", User ID and other settings that are identified in tools-accounts. Using a machine set up with Outlook, I've looked through the registry but have drawn a blank. Either this data is not stored in text in the Registry or there's some other control file.     - wav attachment to OE received as text When an email with a wav attachment is received on a PC using OE, it can be opened. However, when forwarded to another PC, it appears as a long random text message. This forwarded email was sent by OE and the receiving PC uses Outlook.     - Upgrading Outlook Express and Microsoft mail to Outlook 2007 - 2 Hi all, I have two computers running Outlook Express on XP, and Microsoft Mail running on Vista. I want to install Outlook 2007 on the Vista machine and end up with both data sets running under Outlook on the Vista machine, and acting as two separate Identities or Profiles.     - OL 2003 crashes on macro (Alt-F8) or macro editor (Alt-F11) I posted this problem to the VBA group, but I'm not sure it's a vba problem, so I'm posting it here as well; my apologies. With Windows XP Pro, SP-2, and Office 2003 SP-3: I recently installed Office 2003 (recovering, migrated to a new HD, and cleaning up the mess). I now find that either macro (Alt-F8) or macro editor (Alt-F11) causes an almost immediate OL crash, with no useful error information that I can see. I've deleted vbaProject.otm.     - Filter applied (Inbox) I installed Outlook 2007 to my XP SP2 operating system. E-mails come into my inbox. If I read each one and transfer them into my personal folders then no problem. If I leave Outlook open and go to My Documents to research something and return back to the Inbox, all the e-mails either read or unread go into a "Filter Applied" folder lower left automatically. I now have 260 e-mails in this folder and cannot get them out or cannot open the folder. Help please. These e-mails are not junk or intentionally deleted. Thank anyone for assistance.     - Outlook and Hotmail I have an elderly relative (86) who has a paid hotmail account and uses Outlook 2003, and for whom I do all the IT support. Just recently someone else (grrr) has changed her Hotmail account to a Live Hotmail account. This seems to have had two effects - one, she now has a second set of Hotmail folders in Outlook which has confused her, as previously mails were sent and received to and from the default set of folders, and secondly, she now has terrible trouble with mail sticking in the Outbox. I have two questions - as she had a PAID Hotmail account, was it necessary to convert to a Live Hotmail account to continue using Outlook, given the imminent demise of Webdav access to Hotmail, and secondly, does she also need the Outlook Connector installed?     - Access 2003 + Outlook 2003 problem for one client Hi, I didn't get a reply in the Access newsgroup so I thought I would give it a shot here: Our Access 2003 application uses the SendObject command to interface to Outlook. We have a client who used to use Outlook Express. They just recently switched to Outlook. Within Internet Explorer, they went to Tools/Internet Options/Programs and set their default e-mail program to Microsoft Office Outlook. But the interface between our application and Outlook no longer works. After configuring outlook to point to an existing exchange server, all headers appear in outlook. However, the preview is not showing anything and I am not able to close the outlook.     - Contacts display but not when typing message Hello I had to reinstall my system and now I have the following problem. I imported my 'address book' from a safeguard and it displays fine when I click on 'contacts' But when I type a message and click on 'to', the table that appears is empty.     - Sending Blank E-Mails For some strange reason, Outlook 2007 started sending all my e-mail as blanks. However, the receipient can click on REPLY to open. I have never used any type of signature, encrypted or initiated any kind of privacy measure. I have searched through all the commands, menus and toolbars but still can't figure this out.     - Mail preview in e-mail folders Hi.... I've learned many years ago that the preview pane in email folders in outlook was a sin. The email had to be opened to be shown, and that could lead to the activation of malicious code. Even to day as I make new folders, the preview pane is automatically there. I have many, many email folders in my outlook 2007, all of which has gotten their preview pane reactivated after a recent hard disk crash. Now I wonder: Is using the preview pane lowering the security level? Is there an easy one step way to turn off the preview pane in all folders?     - Multiple Progiles in Outlook 2K3 problem Hi All, I'm having a problem lately with multiple profiles. Using Outlook 2K3 running against Exchange 2K3, I've got about a dozen or so mailboxes to which I need access, each of which has a profile set up on my machine. Outlook is set up to prompt me to select a profile when I launch the app, however, recently it stopped prompting me each time I launch Outlook. The only time it prompts me now is after a log off or reboot. When attempting to switch to a different profile in the past, I made sure that the Outlook process has completely gone away in TaskManager and that MAPI32 (?) is gone, as well. Lately I've noticed that the MAPI process is not running at all. I'm thinking that there might be an issue with the registry but before I do a repair or start digging around in regedit I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas. Any feedback is appreciated.     - Outlook 2007 Freezes with Exchange Server My boss uses Outlook 2007 to check his Exchange account which is outsourced with AppRiver. He has Vista. Everything has been working fine until he installed SP1. Now, Outlook 2007 constantly freezes when checking/sending mail. He has to right click the system tray and cancel server request. Hi, I've created a previous topic in regards to this issue and Kathleen Orland was kind enough to offer the /cleanfreebusy switch, which temporary resolves the problem. Now this problem appears to be spreading to all users in our domain, primary, users with laptops.     - Send/receive complete every minute I am using Outlook 2003 on Windows XP SP2. When it is opened, I am seeing "send/receive complete" pop up on the status bar every 60 seconds or so. It disappears after a few seconds. Clicking on it has no effect (no dialog box pops up). It seems to be independent of the regular send/receive mail cycle. Deactivating auto send/receive has no effect. I tried turning off auto send/receive (both on accounts individually and as a group), changing the interval, etc. I have already used Detect and Repair.     - Rule to distribute sent mail I have 3 mail accounts and I want one (or more) rules like this: Apply the rule after I send the message Through the _specified_ account Move it to the _specified_ folder and mark it as read The problem is that the only option I see, in the Rules wizard, is "move a copy". Furthermore, when I use that option, just to test the rule, the message that was copied to the _specified_ folder looks unread. That's why in my rule I want to add the option "and mark it as read".     - Setting up Outlook 2002 for sending/receiving e-mail Hello, I am using XP small office Outlook 2002 and trying to set up to send and receive e-mail. I have used Outlook Express for ages and it works fine. I have configured the Outlook with the info from my ISP (Hughes.net). I can send a test e-mail and it shows up in OE and on the hughes.net server but when I try to send a message through Outlook 2002 I get an error message that says "The operation failed. Does your backup include your PST file or are you using an Exchange Server
mailbox to hold your data?
