    - Location of Users' settings We are running Office 2000 and are shortly to migrate to 2007. All clients run Outlook on Windows XP SP2. The mail server is outsourced (not Exchange). I want to automate the task of setting up Outlook for users. Items such as User's name, "POP Server", "SMTP Server", User ID and other settings that are identified in tools-accounts. Using a machine set up with Outlook, I've looked through the registry but have drawn a blank. Either this data is not stored in text in the Registry or there's some other control file. Presumably it's not in the PST We can use files and settings transfer wizard (to a point) but in some cases this is unnecessary So can anyone tell me where I might be able to automatically set up this information, for instance via a login script or some other batch file Thanks, Peter Tag: Help links in Outlook Don't Work Tag: 605404

    - wav attachment to OE received as text When an email with a wav attachment is received on a PC using OE, it can be opened. However, when forwarded to another PC, it appears as a long random text message. This forwarded email was sent by OE and the receiving PC uses Outlook.     - OL 2003 crashes on macro (Alt-F8) or macro editor (Alt-F11) I posted this problem to the VBA group, but I'm not sure it's a vba problem, so I'm posting it here as well; my apologies. With Windows XP Pro, SP-2, and Office 2003 SP-3: I recently installed Office 2003 (recovering, migrated to a new HD, and cleaning up the mess). I now find that either macro (Alt-F8) or macro editor (Alt-F11) causes an almost immediate OL crash, with no useful error information that I can see. I've deleted vbaProject.otm.     - Filter applied (Inbox) I installed Outlook 2007 to my XP SP2 operating system. E-mails come into my inbox. If I read each one and transfer them into my personal folders then no problem. If I leave Outlook open and go to My Documents to research something and return back to the Inbox, all the e-mails either read or unread go into a "Filter Applied" folder lower left automatically.     - Outlook and Hotmail I have an elderly relative (86) who has a paid hotmail account and uses Outlook 2003, and for whom I do all the IT support. Just recently someone else (grrr) has changed her Hotmail account to a Live Hotmail account. This seems to have had two effects - one, she now has a second set of Hotmail folders in Outlook which has confused her, as previously mails were sent and received to and from the default set of folders, and secondly, she now has terrible trouble with mail sticking in the Outbox. I have two questions - as she had a PAID Hotmail account, was it necessary to convert to a Live Hotmail account to continue using Outlook, given the imminent demise of Webdav access to Hotmail, and secondly, does she also need the Outlook Connector installed?     - Access 2003 + Outlook 2003 problem for one client Hi, I didn't get a reply in the Access newsgroup so I thought I would give it a shot here: Our Access 2003 application uses the SendObject command to interface to Outlook. We have a client who used to use Outlook Express. They just recently switched to Outlook. Within Internet Explorer, they went to Tools/Internet Options/Programs and set their default e-mail program to Microsoft Office Outlook. But the interface between our application and Outlook no longer works. I imported my 'address book' from a safeguard and it displays fine when I click on 'contacts' But when I type a message and click on 'to', the table that appears is empty.     - Sending Blank E-Mails For some strange reason, Outlook 2007 started sending all my e-mail as blanks. However, the receipient can click on REPLY to open. I have never used any type of signature, encrypted or initiated any kind of privacy measure. I have searched through all the commands, menus and toolbars but still can't figure this out. The email had to be opened to be shown, and that could lead to the activation of malicious code. Even to day as I make new folders, the preview pane is automatically there.     - Multiple Progiles in Outlook 2K3 problem Hi All, I'm having a problem lately with multiple profiles. Using Outlook 2K3 running against Exchange 2K3, I've got about a dozen or so mailboxes to which I need access, each of which has a profile set up on my machine. Outlook is set up to prompt me to select a profile when I launch the app, however, recently it stopped prompting me each time I launch Outlook. The only time it prompts me now is after a log off or reboot. When attempting to switch to a different profile in the past, I made sure that the Outlook process has completely gone away in TaskManager and that MAPI32 (?) is gone, as well. Lately I've noticed that the MAPI process is not running at all. I'm thinking that there might be an issue with the registry but before I do a repair or start digging around in regedit I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas. Any feedback is appreciated.     - Send/receive complete every minute I am using Outlook 2003 on Windows XP SP2. When it is opened, I am seeing "send/receive complete" pop up on the status bar every 60 seconds or so. It disappears after a few seconds. Clicking on it has no effect (no dialog box pops up). It seems to be independent of the regular send/receive mail cycle.     - Validation of Office Hi... Cannot fins a more suitable NG on this server. I have just last night fitted my new harddisk and furnished it with a clean install of MS Windows Vista Home Premium. The OS easily got activated. Then I installed Office Home and Student, and upgraded to Office Standard. During the startup of Outlook I'd got a validation request, which I went trough with flying colors. I got a message on screen telling me that my MS Office was activated. content enabled? Were you querying Online content while disconnected =
from the Web?
