    - Outlook will not connect I have just purchased a new HP computer with Vista and also Office 2007. I cannot get Outlook to work. Upon clicking on the icon I get a blue page with the message â??The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.â?? Then a popup asking for server and mailbox info. I have filled this in and pressed ok. I get a message- â??Cannot open your default email folders. The file C:\Users\Joseph\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook.ost is not a offline folder file.â?? I can get no help online or anywhere else. Can you help?     - Outlook 2003 Backup Tool DELL XPS 410 (Dimension 9200) w/XP Pro running Office Small Business 2003. I am just switching to Outlook 2003 and downloaded the Outlook 2003 Backup Tool file (pfbackup.exe). Running the install does nothing to change the File menu.     - Outlook 2002 (Office XP) annoying activity After I close Outlook 2002 program, the process OUTLOOK.EXE continues, often for several minutes, and keeps interrupting other programs about once or twice per second. During this time it's almost impossible to interact with other programs as they stop being the current focus. The OUTLOOK process eventually stops and things go back to normal. I don't knowingly have any "check regularly for mail" options set. Any clues anyone. Using Windows XP SP3, but I can't remember if this problem coincided with the SP3 update.     - Two Problems With Outlook Hi: I currently have two problems with Outlook, as follows: 1. When I open an email in my Inbox and close it out to go to another email then the email that I just opened completely disappears.     - Outlook profile continually prompting for username and password, won't accept credentials We are in the middle of a very large migration from Notes to Exchange 2007 (~20,000 mailboxes). Every now and then some of our migrated users report that while they are working in Outlook, a dialogue pops up asking them to authenticate to Exchange. Keep in mind, this isn't when they're launching Outlook; they're already in Outlook and have been functioning normally. The dialogue pops up out of nowhere. But the kicker is that it won't accept their credentials. They can type any combination of username, domain\username, username@domain.com, etc, and Outlook won't accept it. As soon as they type their password and click OK, the box comes back. And it keeps coming back. Kicker #2 is that if you leave the authentication dialogue box up on the screen you can still see new mail coming in, so Outlook is clearly authenticated properly. Re-creating the users' profile solves the issue, but we would like to know what causes it. Sometimes deleting the OST without re-creating the profile will solve the issue as well. Outlook was delivered to the machines via SMS. Has anyone seen this before or have any thoughts around what might be causing the issue?     - ten digit dialing We now have ten digit dialing in our area (we have to include the area code for local calls). I synch my palm pilot with Outlook 2007. Is there a way to change all local numbers to dial 403 first? Without having to go through every contact to make the change?     - Exchange Contacts list I maintain the contact info for my old Air Force Pilot Training group. I would like to send that info to a couple other pilots so they can have a backup listing.     - Most difficult Outlook 2007 question "Search subfolders" In Outlook 2003, "Advanced Find" used to allow the searching of subfolders in a shared mailbox (not a public folder, that I understand.) In Outlook 2007, I cannot search the same mailbox's subfolders that I used to be able to search in Outlook 2003. Is this permissions? Removed functionality? I do have "Instant Search" installed but it only allows searching on my personal mailbox. I do not have the option to add the shared mailbox to the "Instant Search" options. I've googled and googled. Nothing. I think at least a handful of people are looking for the same answer but I do not see a resolution anywhere. Please help!     - Works in 2003, but not 2007? Correct settings... Hello, I'm trying to set up my IMAP e-mail with Microsoft Outlook 2007 on my laptop which runs Vista Home Prem. 32bit. I have the IMAP account setup on my desktop which is running Outlook 2003 which runs Windows XP Home Ed. The error is 0x800CCC7D Your serer does not support the connection encryption you have specified. But i know it does. i have the outgoing server port the same '587' and the same outgoing mail server (SMTP) I know they are the same since i've double checked multiple times. They are also both set to use SSL encryption. I can't figure out why my laptop can't send messages from this mail account, but my desktop can. The laptop does get the messages, it can't send them. Both computers are running the same antivirus Norton Protection Center. If you have any ideas i'm all ears. If you need anymore information please ask.     - Outlook 2007 with multiple mailboxes I have a secretary that my manager wants to be able to see his emails. I set her up with his and her own account. The problem is when she replys or forwards the email, we want it to come from her email not his. What they have in mind would require custom forms that can deal with a master/detail type of relationship like you would have in an app tied to a relational database.     - recurrence question I'm having a problem with recurring tasks. I created a task that I want to recur weekly (indefinitely). But when I look at my calendar by week, with my tasks beneath, this new recurring task shows up only on the current week's and next week's task lists. After that, nothing. This happens whether nor not I have marked this week's task complete, or have a reminder. If I go out three weeks, I can create the task again, but it then shows me that week and the next week - basically, I can't get it to recur for more than two weeks. I don't want to use regenerate, because even if I forget the task this week, I want it to remind me next week. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!     - Auto-Archive Problem in Outlook 2003 If this has been discussed before, and a solution presented, please point it out to me. First, I would like to say that generically, Auto-Archive works as it's supposed to. The inbox items archives to the inbox in the archive.pst, etc. In fact, any of the system-created folders (Sent Items, etc.) work the way auto-archiving is supposed to. The problem arises with user-created folders. When auto-archiving happens, the folders are archived, but none of the contents. I created three folders to test this out. One folder set to the global rules (which I have set to one month age and daily archiving), one folder set individually to the same setting, and as a control, one folder set not to archive at all. Every day I drag some e-mail into each of those three, leaving some in the inbox. Every day, I get prompted if I want to archive the old stuff. Every day, I say that I do. I watch the messages that say that the folders (including my test folders) are being archived. And every day, only those in the inbox (and sent items, etc.) are actually archived. The ones in the test folders received on the same date as the ones left in the inbox are left behind, untouched. I've tried monkeying around with settings on the folders, in the archive.pst, but nothing seems to get the items in the subfolders to archive. What am I missing?     - Recipient properties not diplayed I have copied a mail to a pst file. I have also copied all the properties of source mail to the destination mails. But after opening a mail from the pst file, the when i try to see the properties of one of the recepients mail id, i get the error message as the name or the distribution list is deleted?     - One thing I REALLY HATE about Outlook and Office..... I really hate the fact that I open an email, open the attachment (word or Publisher) , then spend 4 hours editing a document someone sent me. I press save, and close the document. I open Word or Publisher again to work on the file, and It is not in the recent documents list.     - Favorite Folders Settings I just switched computers from XP to Vista. I managed to copy all my folders and data okay. I am having 3 problems. 1. I had to reset my favorite folders because it did not keep the settings. After each item (inbox, sent, junk etc...) it says "in personal folder". How do I get rid of that? 2.     - Outlook Connector on free Hotmail account I use outloook 2007 on vista ultimate sp1. I would like to be able to use outlook to send and receive all of my hotmail emails. I tried the outlook connector but it never actually connects to my account. if I click the connector toolbar it shows mail, calendar, and contacts all with the same status of "Connecting" although it never actually does. I know that the calendar function is only available to subscribers. I called ms support and the guy told me I would have to have a paid account to use the connector. To my understanding, the connector is supposed to allow free accounts to download and send messages using outlook. And if I had a paid account I would just use the POP3 support to get my messages and not some plugin. On the other hand, I would just use windows live mail (which is what I am doing as a workaround right now) but I really like having all of my organizational stuff in one program thus I think that outlook rocks. what I don't get is why outlook uses DAV instead of DeltaSync? Outlook is a program you buy and it is using an older protocol than a free program. it just doesn't make sense to me. [now coming off of soap box] is there something I am missing on getting my hotmail into outlook? when ever I create an account (using the connector) it shows a new tree for my hotmail account but all of the folders are empty and the status as I mentioned earlier never changes. I have below requirement UserA is going to access MailBox1 at PC1 and at the sametime UserB is going to access MailBox1 as well but at PC2, pls advice how to achieve by allowing this two user from two different PC to reading the same email without impacting each other. Using Outlook 2003 with Meeting Room Manager (MRM) plugin installed, I am
getting the error message above when trying to edit or delete a calendar
entry. If I say yes to resolve the conflict, two calendar entries appear
identical. I am acting as a delegate for another Outlook 2003 user. I have
not been able to find any specific information on this message and what I
need to do to prevent a conflict which does not look like a conflict. Any
ideas?
