    - Can't delete message from outbox or inbox I tried to delete an email from Outbox. When I do I get the message "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook" I restart Outlook, restart the computer, but still get the same message. If I try to move the message I also get an error. If I try to dismiss a calendar reminder, I get the same error. I try to delete from the Inbox and get the same error. Any idea what could be going on?     - Outlook 2003 & 2007 Freezing When Browsing Messages We have a fairly new problem on 3 notebooks and 2 desktops. All are equipped with Windows XP Pro and either Outlook 2003 or 2007. Browsing through emails causes delays, sometimes of up to 6 minutes or more to display an item in the preview pane. All mail items and attachments have been downloaded and previously viewed. The delays are random - some items display quickly, others seem to take forever. It doesn't seem to based on mail or attachment size. I have disabled Symantec antivirus and PestPatrol but the problem persists. Outlook doesn't crash - if you wait long enough the message will be displayed correctly. All machines have the latest Windows and Office updates. As this issue has occured within the last 45 days or so, I wonder if it's an update that's the culprit. Any advice is greatly appreciated.     - HELP Recovering addresses and email from Outlook 2003 I had some serious driver issues that required re-installing XP from disc. I did use the backup option and have a backup of all the old data. And of course had to reinstall Office 2003. Will third party software restore my old email and addresses or am I out of luck??     - Is there an all messages folder in mail? Hi, Sometimes in my haste i move mails to the wrong folders and when i search for them at a later date i can't find them. In notes there was an "all documents" folder where i could quickly find it and move it to it's rightful place. Is there an alternative folder in outlook please? Many thanks, Stewart.     - Outlook child windows not in XP style theme I am using Outlook 2007 and XP. When I click a link in an Outlook email, and IE7 opens, it comes up in Classic theme, instead of the XP theme that I use (Royale Noir). Other child windows from Outlook (Send/Receive Status, Rules and Alerts, Field Chooser, etc) all come up in Classic theme as well. It has been doing this ever since I remember, but it is not a big problem, so I only mentioned it now. Does anybody know why Outlook would be opening child windows without the XP theme? Cheers ss.     - Outlook 2003 fails to launch Am trying to install Outlook 2003 on a machine brought home from work. Once I launch after installation, it automatically attempts to migrate account settings, then displays an error message that reads as follows: "Failed to register a VB Script DLL. Reinstall or run Regsvr32.exe Vbscript.dll to self register. The form cache file 'C:\Documents and Settings\Robin Martinez\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\FORMS\FRMCACHE.DAT' is not valid. Contact your administrator." A dialog box then indicates the operation fails and Outlook terminates. Any thoughts on what I need to do to fix this? We tried to install this particular machine at work, and something went awry in trying to set up Outlook 2007 on it. 2007 was subsequently uninstalled.     - Outlook 2003 configured for HTML messages, but only displays as plain Recently, our company has switched to the OnlyMyEmail spam filtering service, and about that time, received emails stopped being displayed in HTML and are now displayed only in plain text. The "Read all standard mail in plain text" option IS unchecked, so that can't be the problem. Also, emails sent locally (from one of our email accounts to another) are unaffected. Finally, the support page for Outlook 2003 lists this as a possible cause: "On the way to the recipient, the message might have been routed through an e-mail server that doesn't support formatted messages." All of the above leads me to believe that the problem is on OnlyMyEmail's end, but we've sent them an email and they've denied that they're the cause of it.     - enabling address books Outlook 2007 Trying to get my contacts to show up in the Address Book (when I press CTRL-N and select 'Address Book'). Here is what I have. 3 folders (uncertain of the lingo) - Personal Folders, Husband's, Wife's. When I go to Properties for each folder's Contacts folder and select the 'Outlook Address Book' tab, the 'Show this folder as an email address book' checked but grayed out in all three folders. (On one occasion I did find the checkbox for my wife's contacts ungrayed out (is that a phrase?) but don't know why. Even on the occasion when my wife's address book should have been active, the address book was empty and is still empty. How do I 'ungray' the 'Show this folder as an email address book' checkbox?     - OLMAP32.DLL Error after upgrade from Office 2003 to Office 2007 on Two days ago I upgraded from Office 2003 to Office 2007 Enterprise on a laptop running XP/SP3. Everything I've tried in the office suite seems to work well except Outlook. Even after applying Office SP1, whenever I try to start Outlook I get a tiny error box that simply says error, OLMAPI32.DLL. I have spent more time than I would like to admit Googling the problem but have found no solution that works for me although I've tried various solutions that appear in multiple discussions of the problem=97up to and including experimenting with removing all registry references to OLMAPI32.DLL. Nothing has helped! I definitely need Outlook on my laptop. Does anyone have a solution to this problem which, as far as I can see, Microsoft has not documented (perhaps I'd missed something?).     - template problem Hi, I've seen a problem whereby whenever a user creates a new email message, or replies to an existing one, all of their text is underlined. I identified this as being due to the normal.dot template. I edited normal.dot so that underline isn't selected and saved. This fixed the problem with replying to emails, however they still have the problem when composing new emails?!?!? FYI when opening a new word document, underline is off. Anyone know how to fix this?     - Outlook rewrites subject line to "SPAM: [original subject]" I'm working with a customer of mine who I believe has some form o malware on his machine that is rewriting the subject line for all o his outbound emails. Here are the symptoms. 1. The office has quite a few users and they all use the same SMT server. Only one user is has this problem. 2. When the problem user composes an email with a certain subject, th recipient receives the email, but the subject is always preceded wit SPAM: 3. Here is the situation: On a Vista PC there are two different users which need to use the same contacts. The tricky thing is that each user has a different identity in outlook i.e. user 1 = personal, user 2 = work. User 2 wants to have the same contacts as user 1.     - Sending a link chops URL's with Outlook 2007!?# Whenever I "send link" from a browser, using Outlook 2007, it not only uses plain text formatting, but also chops long URL's with a newline. I want my emails sent with HTML formatting. And if I reply to a plain text email containing a long URL, this gets chopped too! I find this most annoying, as do the message recipients.     - Lost Message Text!!! Using Outlook 2003 (all of Office 2003), all the latest updates, in Win XPSP3. I wrote a long important e-mail this morning, addressed to several people. I clicked Send, then Send and Receive, and assumed my message was sent. I received an e-mail from one of the addressees, indicating that the received e-mail was blank, no message. I went to my Sent Items folder, with the intention of forwarding that sent message to this one addressee. The message title appeared in Sent Items folder, along with the addressees. But the message was blank--nothing at all in message window-although I had written a long message. I cannot find that text I had written anywhere! What could have happened? Where could I possibly find that missing text, so I do not have to write the message again? And I cannot receive e-mails into my Outlook 2007. n response to that post, Hal suggested to reboot and run "regsvr32 inetcomm.dll". That did not resolve the issue. When I inquired (on 06/26/08) whether I could re-install OL '07 over the current installation or did I need to uninstall the enitre office suite and reinstall?     - Outlook 2003/2007 won't save password I was using Outlook 2003, but started having a problem with my email password being saved. I went to the Microsoft website for help and tried all the resolutions of KB290684. Tried to create new profiles, run in safe mode, and delete registry key. No luck on any. I upgraded to Office 2007, in hopes that this would solve my problem, but I have the same issue. So now, I have Outlook 2007 and it will not save my password.     - searching a calendar Hi All, I have a weird problem with one users calendar. When she searches it for a meeting that is in the calendar it only brings back entries for 2007. If you do and advanced find it brings back all the meetings past, present and future. This is only happening to one user that I know of and she is using outlook 2003. I have ran through the normal stuff with /cleanfreebusy /cleanviews /resetfolders etc and I have recreated the profile. None of these has made any difference. Does anyone have any ideas?     - deleting emails as a delegate Hi All, I have an issue with some outlook 2003 clients. We have some senior people who have PAs who can't delete certain mails from their mailfiles. I have checked the delegate permissions and they are all set at editor. I have checked their AD permissions to the mailfiles and increased them up to full access. I can delete the emails but I'm a full exchange administrator. If I create a profile on the PAs machine and they go into outlook as their manager they can delete the mail. Hi guys, I have dragged the icon for Quickparts onto my Outlook toolbar and have saved several snippets of text as quickparts, saved in normalemail.dotm However, as soon as I exit Outlook, the saved items are gone when I next open Outlook.     - Deleting Address Book Outlook 2007 Just installed Outlook 2007 & have imported my emails & address book from Thunderbird. All was going well until I realized that Thunderbird had created numerous duplicate contacts. A couple thousand to be exact So I attempted to delete the address book in Outlook, but I think that feature only allows you to delete additional address books, not the main one.     - IMAP messages mysteriously disappear when marking one as read in Hi there I am using Outlook 2007 with imap email (one account) on a windows xp machine. I have a really strange problem which happens intermittently and which goes like this: I have an 'Unread' folder for my IMAP inbox. If I select an unread message, right-click and select 'Mark as Read' most of the unread messages disappear from the folder, or sometimes almost all of them - last time the only message left in the folder was the unread one. Then, if I return to my regular Inbox many of the messages have disappeared, especially the most recent ones. I cannot get them back other than by crashing out of Outlook (which generally hangs if I select the Inbox too many times) and starting it up again. Sometimes when it starts up again the inbox is still half empty, but it will actually fill up before my very eyes. It must be something to do with synchronising the folders on the IMAP server going wrong because of course the emails are still there on the server, just not there in Outlook.     - Outlook 2003: New emails not showing up in Inbox I am pulling my hair out, here. I a total Outlook greenie, but need to set up a client with it. I've set up email, I successfully received an email and successfully sent out an email. Then I did something, and now new emails are not showing up anywhere. I can receive the emails, and I get the Outlook "ding" and "new mail" icon in the corner. I can check and confirm via webmail that the email address did indeed receive the emails. I can still send emails. But I cannot see any new email that has come in. I have reset all filters, made everything go back to default, to the best of my knowledge. Anyone have any ideas?     - Pixelated Image Problem. How do I fix this? I am creating a newsletter and I have a header image. I made the newsletter in Word in a table and then just copied it over to Outlook to send. But when I send the newsletter, the header image is VERY distoroted. I have tried turning off picture compression, different formats of the picture, etc. and have yet to find a solution for it.     - Unistall Outlook 2007 I am a long time Outlook user and have been using Outlook 2007 with BCM for several months. I purchased Office Pro 2007. All of a sudden when I log on to Outlook it freezes. Other programs do not. I'm using Vista Business 4 gigs of Ram etc. I don't understand how to uninstall Outlook without uninstalling all Office Pro Locations. I ran the repair took from the Office installation disk same problem. I tried finding my pst file to use Scanpst.exe but Visat search is worthless. In fact I believe the problem might have been cause when I was trying to rebuild the search index and change the archive settings for RSS search folders I had in Outlook, something snapped.     - Unable to send messages Hi all, I have just set up an account in a new install of Outlook 2007 and can receive mail, but, for some reason I can not send messages. I have checked every setting I can think of to see what might be causing it not to send, and I have run out of ideas. I've found many posts saying the answer is to set IE as your default
application for opening http:, https:, url, etc, but as I use Firefox
I don't see why setting this browser as the default for all of these
extensions and protocols as the default, from the control panel while
running it as Administrator, does not work.

Any suggestions?
