You can set finite task lengths in MS Project (short ones are not uncommon in, for example, machine process operations). You may

Hello,
I need a project management/Gantt chart program that can allow a project to
be split into tasks that might last only a few minutes at a time. A typical
project might take 2-4 days, but would need to be defined in tasks as short
as 5 minutes !
Can MS Project do this ?
If not, are there any alternatives ?
