    - Automated macro for unique csv files The problem where we are having problems is this: The design team creates a product. Each product has a list of parts : 2 of this 3 of that. No product is the same. The list is then converted to a .csv file, which would then be needed to be converted into labels for each individual part. We would need a macro that would read the quantity of parts requested, make an individual label for each part, but at the same time we would be able to use this macro automated to crate labels for each unique csv file created. Is there anyway that we can "drag and drop" the csv file into a macro and it automates the correct amount of labels from the quantity listed from each unique csv file created for a product? It is very important to have a way to simplify the steps to do this since this is being created for individuals who have never used word or excel. Any assistance is appreciated.     - Outlook Express hogs all processing under FIND I finally get around to asking about this. If I do a "FIND" search in outlook express and select "search all text" in a folder that has thousands of messages (or worse, all folders), and it doesn't find something quickly, then this search totally takes over the processor as if multitasking priorities was something that belongs in the 80's. Even Task Manager cannot seem to end the search and multiple task manager "ends" result in deleted messages from the folder in question after it eventually ends. Nothing else useful can be done in the meantime. This seems so primitive that I keep thinking it must be me that is missing something obvious. Any advice, other than use FIND carefully?     - Cannot "save as" from Office 2007/Vista Business to Server 2003 sh I can find some reference to this issue but nothing quite like my issue so maybe someone else can help. I am currently the only user on our domain with Vista and Office 2007. My documents folder is mapped to the user folder on the server. I cannot "save as" to any network shares. I can open a document on a share and re-save it to the same location with no issue. I can create a new file in another application and save it to a network share also with no problem but anytime I try to "save as" to the network in Word or Excel I get this message: "'\\servername\users\username\Test document save as.docx' cannot be found. Check your spelling, or try a different path." I can save the document to a local path and drag-and-drop it to the share. I have disabled Offline Files and that had no effect (although it did, oddly enough, solve a problem I was having with installing new apps). It is quickly becoming a major annoyance and because I am on a domain I get no free support from Microsoft. Any help would be greatly appreciated.     - Did I break my Office 2007 installation? Hi there, I had Office 2007 installed with SP1 and all the other updates available on windows update. I recently had a problem, and ran the "repair" option off the Office disk. This didn't fix my problem and I ended up fixing it later via a system restore rollback. Did I mess up any of my prior updated files by doing the "repair" option off the install disk? I have no idea if any files were actually changed... so I need to find some way to bring everything back up to synch... or am I ok? Thanks for the help!     - Mapped Drives missing from Office Open/Save As before opening dri I have several XP Pro users who have 2-3 persistent mapped drives to a Win 2003 Server (some mapped drives are using DFS) via a login script who experience the network drives missing when they attempt to Open or click Save As from Office 2003 sp2. They are missing UNTIL they connect to the mapped drive by clicking on the Available mapped drive from Windows Explorer or connect to the drive from a shortcut, etc. After they initially open the mapped drive then they can go straight back to their Office app->Open and the mapped drive is then available. Everytime. Their mapped drives still appear in My Computer and they never have trouble gaining access from anywhere else. This happens after (re)booting but only if the user wasn't just logged in. Logging off seems to retain the drives in Office. I don't believe it to be a corrupt profile issue as the same thing is happening to several users in the same office area/dept all with similar roles. Their AD group memberships aren't different from anyone else's. None of the several other depts I support have experienced this trouble. I can't find any help or leads to this particular problem anywhere. Very weird and driving me crazy trying to find a fix. Any leads to the fix will be much appreciated. thanks!     - Shared Printer Does Not Work from Wireless Network Laptop I have a Windows XP Home desktop connected to a printer via USB and, I have a Windows Vista Premium laptop connected through a wireless network. Print jobs initiated from the laptop hang up in the print queue with a print error, and also show up on the desktop under the print jobs as a print error.     - MS Word hanging up at start-up with XP Just recently I started experiencing hang-ups trying to open MS Word. I have the MS Office Student & Teacher 2003 edition.     - Calling office COM interfaces from java code I am trying to revive an old Java application that I wrote several years ago. It used Microsoft's java VM (jview) at the time. The app is a 3 tier application. The client stuff is just java and I can get it to run in SUN's current java. There is a custom protocol that moves the data from the client to the server (RMI didn't exist then). The Server App, on the other hand, used com interfaces to access and control MS Access, Visio, and PowerPoint. Basically, a user creates an interactive specialty drawing on the client and all that the info gets transferred to the Server app and saved into the MS Access DB. The user can request (from the Client) that a drawing be printed out from Visio or PowerPoint (on the Server). The Server App reads the data stored in the MS Access DB and "draws" the drawing in either Visio or PointPont and then prints it out. So, my current problems is: 1) Microsoft doesn't do java anymore (no more jview and jvm). 2) I need modern com interfaces (from java) to control modern MS Access, Visio, and PowerPoint. The old java classes I used were: dao350, jconfigdserveractivex, msacc8, mso97, msppt8, msrdo20, stdole2, vaoutils, vbeext1, ven2232, vishlink, vishtmlo, vislib32 I can't seem to find these interfaces to the modern version of the apps I need. I think there might have been something built into the old MS JVM that allowed these to work.... not sure. Do these interfaces (actually a more modern current form of them) exist for SUN java?     - Accounting Professional should let me get rid of the Spotlight I hate advertisements invading my space, don't you? Sometimes, when we use something for free, you have to accept that, but this is the first time that I have purchased a program and been subjected to ongoing ads within the program. I have searched and searched for some option to remove the ads from my screen but I find this so annoying that I am at the point of going back to QuickBooks rather than bother with Microsoft Accounting Professional. This is a deal breaker for me. If ads don't annoy you then you might be able to ignore that "Spotlight" that appears on the right of the program screen, but I don't want to have to stare at a couple kissing and talking about something that I have no desire to purchase. I reformatted my desktop computer running XP for the third time. when I tried to reinstall office xp standard (3rd time installed on same computer), the disk would not read. I ended up installing it by using another copy that I had purchased for my laptop (no teenagers allowed to use it) and using the product key from the desktop copy.     - Loose File Association with Limited User Account with Office 2007 I installed Enterprise Office 2007 on Wnxp sp2. The installation went smoothly. I can see all my previous office data (word, excel, etc). In windows explorer, when I click on word or excel, the appropriate application launches. However, when I switch to my limited user account, I loose the file association. All my word documents are in WordPad. From windows explorer, when I click on them, it launches WordPad. I have tried the â??open withâ?? option. It will open with word 2007, but it will not change the file association. When I give the limited user account admin privileges, everything is fine. But when I take away the admin privilege, I am back to square one. I am guessing this will require registry setting, but I do not know how to go about it.     - Northwind database - Product table child of Suppliers table Hello, In the book "Visual Studio Tools for Office - C# 2005", they are referencing a Northwind datbase/dataset that is structured with the Suppliers table as parent and the Products tables as child and in the dataset view, the Products table appears indented to the right under the Suppliers table. When i went to download the latest version of the Northwind datbase, which appears to be the version for year 2000, those 2 tables do not appear to be in the indented format appearing in the book. The book pointed to the Northwind db in the \Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Samples directory and when i compare this db with the downloaded db they appear to the same.     - Word 2007 Austosave BUG I had a customer working on a proposal for an entire day, in Word. Late in the afternoon, a storm came over and knocked out the power in the area for a few minutes while he was working on it. He didn't have a UPS so his machine just stopped working as you would expect seeing it is a desktop machine. Anyway, he has been working on a Word97-2003 format .doc not the normal docx Word 2007 uses by default. When the power came back, his machine was OK and Word went into autosave and he tried to load that document only to get constant errors. I had him email me the document and checked it out at a raw data level and found it was actually a Word97-2003 document, which he hadn't told me and renamed the autosaved docx file to a .doc file and it worked perfectly. So, the point is that this is a bug report. The autosave should actually work in with the old format but apparently doesn't.     - Outlook 2007 CPU Maxing Out Same Time Each Day We are using Office 2007 SP1 on Windows Vista Business. Each day at the same time, PC's in my company will max out their CPU usage for a couple minutes. When I look in Task Manager, outlook.exe is the culprit.     - Excel Attachment in Outlook 2007 Hello. This is happening with Office 2007. We have one user that whenever she tries to open an Excel attachment, Excel will open but she can't see anything on the spreadsheet. If she goes to the Office button on Excel and selects anything, for example Excel Options, then returns to the document she was trying to open - then she can see the spreadsheet. I have installed SP1 on her machine and she is still having this issue. She has not had problems opening any other type of attachments. Any help would be appreciated.     - Office Ultimate 2007 (Student version) - transferring to new laptop I bought a new laptop last week and I want to give my old one to my daughter. I have installed the Office Ultimate (Student version) both my new and old laptops but I am concerned about licensing restrictions. Should I remove the version of Office 2007 from my old laptop before giving it to my daughter? How many times can I install the student version of Office Ultimate? Does Microsoft keep a count of the number of times I have installed my copy of Office? If so, does it increment this count if I de-install it? Thanks in anticipation.     - Can i embed Flash in an email with Office 2003 I make HTML newsletters and embed them in my email to circulate that in a group. When the recieptent opens the emial he can see the content of the page. Now i want to do that same with flash. I am making a flash header for newsletter. Can i send the SWF as an embeded element so that when someone opens the email he can see the animation without having to click anything. Please reply back as soon as possible as this is very urgent. Did they make the transfer? Also here is a link to the pocketPC group,
