I am attempting to take a picture where I deleted the background thur "paint"
and use a different background, but everytime I just do a simple copy and
paste, the white of the background I deleted is still there and the new one I
want to use is no longer. can anyone help me?

Not sure what program you're working with, but try using PNG or TIF, both of
which support transparency. JPG doesn't.
