When I start MS WORD application, a certain file opens every time. Is there
any way I can change it to some other file or a new doccument?

An option to start in the last edited document would be nice. Or
even a shortcut to enable that.

Not so easy to remember as the shortcut I had in Word97 (involved
some VBA but I can't remember what).

You can still use VBA, just record a macro.
