office enterprise 2007 junk email filter not working at all
Folks,
Apologies if this is not the right place (I was not sure whether to place it
on office or outlook forums). Hope someone could help me resolve this
mystery.
I have installed office 2007 enterprise and junk email filter in office
outlook simply refuses to work.
I have checked for the following potential problems (that were mentioned
elsewhere):
(1) My e-mail address is not in â??the safe sender listâ??
(2) I removed and reinstalled junk email filter update (did not help)
(3) I tried to use â??repairâ?? feature on the installation disc (did not help)
It seems to me that I have the installation problem. For example in the
outlook 2007 manual part that discusses junk e-mail filtering features it
says that commands Tools>Organize should give a list â??Using colorsâ??, â??Using
Foldersâ??, â??Using Viewsâ??, â??Junk E-mailâ??. I see the first three but the last
item (Junk E-mail) is completely missing, as if Junk E-mail filter part was
not properly installed.
All the help appreciated (I am getting ca 100 spam messages a day).
Best regards

fonts disappear from Office Apps after reboot
So - I'm at my wits end - any suggestions would be appreciated!!
On an XP SP2 machine with Office 2003 SP2 we install a true-type font and it
works just fine. We can see it in Control Panel \ Fonts folder as well as
use it in Office products. We logoff/login - same thing - works fine. We
restart system -
this font is no longer available in Office products but are still visible in
Fonts folder. This happens with many fonts that we install - so it's not
font specific.
We've rebuilt the device twice and the problem reoccurs for this pocket of
users. We've had them login to test machines and it works fine (ruling out
ID related issue). I've logged into his machine and had the issue
(generating a new local profile). So - we think we've narrowed it down to
their physical devices with a physical reboot.
From reading another thread re: fonts, I did confirm the registry of the
device does have the Fonts key and does contain all the fonts. This problem
is specific to the applications (Adobe and Office) not being able to see/use
the fonts after a reboot.
Has anyone come across something like this? Any suggestions where to start
troubleshooting further?
Thanks!
Michelle

sysfader / Office 2003 Issue
Hi,
Has anyone had sysfader to hang at shutdown, or restart, since installing
office 2003 security updates this year? My PC was running OK until I
installed the ones released back in February of 2008. Not to mention that
IE6 is somewhat sluggish and will not start at times; plus the program
installer malfunctions too.
Things have got so bad that I have already re-installed XP Home SP2 (plus
updates) two times of late, and I still can't fix this issue.
Surely someone else has delt with this too.
I would like to hear from you if you have.

MS Office 2007 Ultimate - Urgent Question - Please Help!!

Variety of Questions regarding Office 2007 Suite
I know that it is generally a no-no to ask multiple questions in one post,
but as they are all related to the Office 2007 Suite and hopefully to
settings in Options - I have chosen to do so at the risk of annoying some.
1) Is there a way to have the office product stay open/loaded when the last
document is "x'd" without using the close feature? I am hoping that this is
just a checkbox somewhere in the Options. This is the case in Word, Excel,
and PowerPoint.
2) In Outlook 2007 is there a way to keep the "include subfolders" option
enabled when doing an Advanced Search -- each time I open Outlook I need to
re-check that box. Similarly, is there a way to permanently set the To-Do
Bar to "Off" -- I also need to set that each time I open the application.

Word 2000-2003 document printing issue
Hi there,
We had a document created in office 2000, printing on legal paper. Now
we upgraded to office 2003, for some reason Word 2003 is trying to
print on letter format and somehow is compressing the fonts to fit on
letter size format, althrough on the printer it prints on legal but
the contents seem compressed as through it is trying to print on
letter format. So the document instead of taking up entire legal page
space and using normal arial font, it is printed only on 2/3 of the
document with a smaller arial font and there is blank at the end. Is
it something we need to configure on Word 2003? Thank you, T Tag: Windows Messenger -Adding AOL IM buddies Tag: 290404

microsoft document imaging vs image writer
This is actually a 2 part question.
1) What is the difference between MSDocument Imaging and Image Writer?
2) We are scanning documents in and saving as a *.tif file. However when
opening these files, we see that some pages need to be rotated. Once the
pages are rotated and we tell it to print as a different *tif file, it then
gives us the error message: "One or more pages in this file cannot be viewed
in Microsoft Office Document Imaging".
The reason for the 2nd 'Print' is that when these files were scanned in,
they were at a resolution that is to high, causing HUGE file sizes. We are
trying to 'compress' the files by printing them to MSODI.

Office 2007 and Konica print drivers
Vista Workstation, Server 2003 and Konica Minolta printers Bizhub 500 and C550.
The drivers are pushed down through a script from the server on login, if
they exist then they are not reinstalled. Therefore the inf is located on
the server, available through a network share.
When we set some of the controls such as double-sided in the printer setting
through control panel this works. If we leave the setting single-sided in
the control panel and try to set in the printing preferences while performing
a print from a Microsoft application such as Word 2007 these settings do not
work.
If we then install the driver manually on a workstation, these settings will
be controlled through either the control panel or Office. We'd like to
continue the installs through the login script instead of installing
manually; any suggestions? Tag: Windows Messenger -Adding AOL IM buddies Tag: 290398

Automated macro for unique csv files
The problem where we are having problems is this: The design team creates a
product. Each product has a list of parts : 2 of this 3 of that. No product
is the same. The list is then converted to a .csv file, which would then be
needed to be converted into labels for each individual part. We would need a
macro that would read the quantity of parts requested, make an individual
label for each part, but at the same time we would be able to use this macro
automated to crate labels for each unique csv file created.
Is there anyway that we can "drag and drop" the csv file into a macro and it
automates the correct amount of labels from the quantity listed from each
unique csv file created for a product?
It is very important to have a way to simplify the steps to do this since
this is being created for individuals who have never used word or excel.

Outlook Express hogs all processing under FIND
I finally get around to asking about this. If I do a "FIND" search in outlook

this search totally takes over the processor as if multitasking priorities
was something that belongs in the 80's. Even Task Manager cannot seem to end

something obvious.

Mapped Drives missing from Office Open/Save As before opening dri
I have several XP Pro users who have 2-3 persistent mapped drives to a Win
2003 Server (some mapped drives are using DFS) via a login script who
experience the network drives missing when they attempt to Open or click Save
As from Office 2003 sp2.
They are missing UNTIL they connect to the mapped drive by clicking on the
Available mapped drive from Windows Explorer or connect to the drive from a
shortcut, etc. After they initially open the mapped drive then they can go
straight back to their Office app->Open and the mapped drive is then
available. Everytime.
Their mapped drives still appear in My Computer and they never have trouble
gaining access from anywhere else.
This happens after (re)booting but only if the user wasn't just logged in.
Logging off seems to retain the drives in Office. I don't believe it to be a
corrupt profile issue as the same thing is happening to several users in the
same office area/dept all with similar roles. Their AD group memberships
aren't different from anyone else's. None of the several other depts I
support have experienced this trouble.
I can't find any help or leads to this particular problem anywhere. Very
weird and driving me crazy trying to find a fix. Any leads to the fix will be
much appreciated.

Calling office COM interfaces from java code
I am trying to revive an old Java application that I wrote several years ago.
It used Microsoft's java VM (jview) at the time. The app is a 3 tier
application.
The client stuff is just java and I can get it to run in SUN's current java.
There is a custom protocol that moves the data from the client to the server
(RMI didn't exist then).
The Server App, on the other hand, used com interfaces to access and control
MS Access, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Basically, a user creates an interactive specialty drawing on the client and
all that the info gets transferred to the Server app and saved into the MS
Access DB. The user can request (from the Client) that a drawing be printed
out from Visio or PowerPoint (on the Server). The Server App reads the data
stored in the MS Access DB and "draws" the drawing in either Visio or
PointPont and then prints it out.
So, my current problems is:
1) Microsoft doesn't do java anymore (no more jview and jvm).
2) I need modern com interfaces (from java) to control modern MS Access,
Visio, and PowerPoint.
The old java classes I used were:
dao350, jconfigdserveractivex, msacc8, mso97, msppt8, msrdo20, stdole2,
vaoutils, vbeext1, ven2232, vishlink, vishtmlo, vislib32
I can't seem to find these interfaces to the modern version of the apps I
need.
I think there might have been something built into the old MS JVM that
allowed these to work.... not sure.
Do these interfaces (actually a more modern current form of them) exist for
SUN java?
Can any of the (modern versions) of the 3 apps be controlled(driven) from
java as it exists today? Tag: Windows Messenger -Adding AOL IM buddies Tag: 290305
