PLEASE somene HELP!!

I can not open a word docu,etm that I need for court.

I am using XP Pro and Word 2007 (Office Suite) when I try ot open it, it
says, "Micro Soft cannot open this docuemtn be cause some parts are missing
or invalid." " Cannot open this document becasue there are
problems eitht he contents".

I have researched on the net for solutions. All have said to re-save the doc
as : Saveas... The problemis is I can't open it to re-save it. I have not
options in Windows Explorere to do this.

I should mention I reformatted my computer 3 days ago; however I only
created the document 2 days ago.

Please help someone! this documet is for custody court.

Try opening Word then go into Open - and change the file type to recover
text from any file - select your file. See if you can recoup any of the
text.

I tried that and the entire doc is blank except for my name listed 3 times.

Have you opened word and then tried to open the document from there?
If not, try that.

If you've tried and only found that, I strongly suspect your file is shot.
How big is the file?

What format is the document in that you are trying to open with Word??

It sounds like it is "corrupt" format. My recommendation is to try to
remember as much as possible, have recourse to the original hard copy
evidence if possible, and start typing furiously.
