I am running a Dell E520, and had Office 2007 installed, but was having
problems. I bought the upgrade for Office Pro 2007 at Staples yeterday, oput
in the CD, it asked for the new product number, then did its thing, but did
not install. It apparently just read my CD to see I had the Office
components installed, and then completed its thing. It did not install the
Accounting Express which comes with the Update, and it did not write over the
old components, did not chnage the product number, adn I still have the same
problems. I am at a loss. I guess I could take this back and buy a whole new
Office 2007, but if I don't need to spend another $200, I'd be happy. Thanks
in advance for your help.

Problems?
Perhaps you should state what they were

"Microsoft Outlook has encountreed problems and must close" and it would
reopen and stay open for 90 seconds, and then the same "Microsoft Outlook has
encountered problems and must close," and close again.

Did Outlook ever work?
Did you run the help>repair function?

Yes, it worked fine under Small Business Office 2003 and when I installed a
full version of 2007, it suddenly started this error message. At one time, I
thought it was something connected with Acrobat, so I removed Acrobat
entirely and that didn't help. We changed the profile to another name, and
that worked for a week or so, and then whatever is in it came back. I have
run the repair functions, I reinstalled the full version,a dn finally this
weekend, I bought the upgrade hoping it would reinstall to the original
defaults and solve the problem, but that was just $329 down the tubes as it
didn't do anything except confirm some (but not all) of the components of the
upgrade were installed, and when I redid it, it told me it had done
everything on the first install, and Microsoft doesn't respond to emails or
queries, so I am depending on this question-reply forum. Any suggestions are
appreciated.
