I have a new computer, desktop, and in the process of installing all the =
basic software programs I that usually use. One of those is Office =
Standard 2007, ( Word 2007; Excel 2007; PowerPoint,2007 and Outlook =
2007). I installed it did not check to see if all working okay as I have =
nothing to view. I when to update office and after jumping through =
different hoops end up at this WEB page to update =
https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/thankyou.aspx?familyId=3D9ec51594-992=
c-4165-a997-25da01f388f5&displayLang=3Den# on this page it has the =
update listed office2007sp1-kb936982-fullfile-en-us.exe to click on to =
do the down load and I noted that the file size was listed as 218.3 MB. =
Now I am on a dialup modem at 50.6 kbps so it take some time enough, so =
a couple of time my connection got drop, but was able to resume the =
download process. After two plus days the update was downloaded (speed =
of download was about 26 kbps, I have two other computers sharing the =
same access) , but the file size was only 168 MB (176,454,317 bytes) =
that is about 50 MB short so the question is what give here is this =
normal or not. One option I have is to take my laptop out to town to a =
high speed connection and try to redownload the updating file to see if =
I get the full file size, which may have unknown conquests as the laptop =
has Office 2001 on installed. I normally save files to a folder then run =
the update.
