    - Problem running the online interactive training Hi, I'm trying to run the various Microsoft Office online training courses that are available on the Microsoft website. However, I'm only able to see and hear one page... then when I click 'next' I can only see (but not hear) the next page... when I click to access a third page, nothing happens - so I can't see or hear the third page. I've found a way around it... but it's time consuming and a bit frustrating. If I view and listen to page one... then click next, so that I can see page 2... then exit that specific training course... then reload the course for page 1... then click next... I can see and hear page two... then I have to click next, exit, re-enter the course etc to see and hear page 3.... and repeat the entire process for each page.     - Windows Mail Default client Hi, I am unable to send an e-mail through the IE7 or click on some links in my e-mail. I know that when I go into Tools and then Options, down at the bottom I have the option of making it my default messaging programs.     - Word File Associations with Vista/Word 2007 "This file does not have a program associated with it ..." when opening a Word Document in Windows Mail. However the file opens correctly through other means, and there is no problem opening other files inside Windows Mail. Another account on the same computer does not have this issue. In the faulty account, the Description for the File Association says "DOC File," and the icon is slightly greyed out. In the other account, the Description says "Microsoft Office 97-2003 Document" for that extension, the icon is clear, and documents open properly in Windows Mail. I've tried changing the .DOC association to another program, and then back; it seemed to work for one account but not the other. This trivial issue is consuming all my time; can anyone help?     - OCS 2007 Standard, Cisco Presence, and RCC Greetings to all. I have OCS 2007 Standard configured and running, and have Office Communicator 2007 installed on our client computers. After that, we got a Cisco Callmanager, and a Cisco Presence Server. We are now working on the integration in order to use Remote Call Control. On the Cisco side, our partners say they have it all set up. On OCS side, I configured the routing to the Cisco Presence Server. On the users, I enabled Remote Call Control, which these values: Server URI: sip:username@ciscopresence.domain.pt Line URI: tel:12345;phone-context=dialstring On Communicator client, I only went to the Telephones tab, and selected the Work Phone to be published. The Phone integration option is selected, and in the advanced option, it shows Automatic Configuration selected, with no chance to manually configure. Well, after all this, it doesnt work, when I start the client, it warns me that there was no telephony system to connect to. Is it because of OCS 2007 being Standard Edition? Or is there another trick? I even tried using phone numbers with + (plus sign), but didnt seem to work.     - Files open up very slowly One of our users is running Windows XP, sp2, office 2003 sp2. When trying to open up a document by doubleclicking, on or off of network, it takes two minutes to open. Even if it is a text file with "this is a test" only in the file. When I launch the application first (and it opens up fine) and then open the document from there, then it is ok. When I disconnect the the network cable, then it opens up fine. When I connect the network cable then it takes two minutes to open up the file. I thought it might be that previously the office was being launched from the network instead of the hard drive, which was not the case but to be on the safe side I uninstalled the office and installed it again. Logging in the network is fine and quick. The files that we are trying to open are not even on the network. They are on the local drive. Any ideas? Thank you.     - Cannot access online help content in office 2007 I have a domain network behind a watchguard x700 firewall. We have office 2007 pro plus (with SP1) installed on a mix of XP Pro and Vista Business machines (all currently patched). Currently, none of these installations can access the online help content on office online. We can access the webpage just fine, but if you click on help in any office app, you only get the local help. I am almost positive that our watchguard is blocking the connection but i can't find a deny for this in the logs. Does anyone have any idea of what ports/protocols are used by the office 2007 online help? And how can i allow this through the firewall? While not a work stopper, this is annoying. Especially for our people who write vba code.     - Office 2003 with Vista READ-ONLY problem I have many computers accessing Microsoft office documents off of a shared network drive, I have a laptop running vista that can access the files and open them, but when I try to save them I can save them once and then the file saves as read only, or if I leave the computer for about 5 minutes when I come back to it the file is read only.     - Opening Word documents after SP3 on Office 2003 Hi, When i receive certain documents in word 2003-97 format and try to open them in Office Word 2003 SP3 i get a file conversion dialog box.     - Word 2007 cannot open .doc* files from attachments. Having an on going issue were users are unable to open Word documents from attachments within Outlook 2007. We have Office Pro Plus 2007 installed on Vista Business Edtion. When the user double clicks the attachment Word opens to a blank page. If the document is saved to a location it will open with a double click however any mouse related editing does nothing (ie.. cannot use the mouse to select text for editing) and the options page is all greyed out.     - Activating German Language Pack for Office 2007 fails, unknown error I purchased downloadable German Language Pack for Office 2007 back in January, making a copy of the download and several of the Product Key. The "Merchant of Record" is Digital River globalTech. Now I am reinstalling the operating system and need to reinstall the language pack. The "Digital River SecuROM Product Activity Screen" says "Aktivierung fehlgeschlagen - unknown error" after contacting Digital River. There is a button for "Manuelle Aktivierung" but it requires a product unlock code which I do not have and was never given. Under "Manuelle Aktivierung" there are two text boxes, one for "Code anfragen" which contains a forty-four digit static text code that I do not recognize from any of my correspondence related to this order, and one for "Freischaltcode" ("unlock code") where it appears I am supposed to enter something. The Product Key does not work here. I have sent Office Customer Support and Digital River emails asking how to get past the error message or how to get an unlock key. Fortunately the data was backed off off site to Symantec and I am now rebuilding on a new computer. The user profile on the new computer is in a named folder "roger" on "C" drive whereas on my old computer from which the back up was made was a named folder "roger XXXXXX" Old operating system was XP new operating system is Vista I have loaded my Outlook 2003 and this is satisfactorily working but cannot seem to restore my old .pst files & folders from the offsite back up.     - Upgrading to Office 2007 in Corporate Environment Hello All, I'm project lead on the upgrade of our Office system here from Office 20003 to 2007. For the last week I have had trouble installing the application. I kept getting an error during the first part of the installation claiming that a certain file on the installation DVD could not be found. When I browse to the file, I get an "Invalid Location" error. That being said, I was able to resolve this issue: Our office PCs are set-up with the archaic C/D drive partition, & setting the C-drive to READ ONLY for non-admin users. Even if you are logged in as an Admin, you will not be able to install Office 2007 unless the C drive rights are changed to allow writing ability for all users. By "unlocking" the C-drive, I was able to successfully install the software. Now, this is an over-all issue because the manpower required to temporarily remove the C drive protection to install the application would be ridiculous. And, by setting group policy to allow writing to the C drive, I leave open some security holes (again, I understand this is not the most efficient security system we have, but it is out of my hands). So, I need to figure out which folder on the C drive is being created &/or written to so that I can set group policy to allow User write rights to that particular spot only.     - Documents from WebDAV folders open read only in Office 2007 and Hi, as the title says, word documents opened from within a webfolder in Windows Vista are marked as read only and can thus not be edited. The same document works perfectly with Windows XP + Office 2003 and also Windows XP + Office 2007. Windows Vista + Office 2007 fails (i.e. read only). I mounted the webfolder through the "Map network drive" wizard under Computer with the following URL scheme: "http://my.server.com/webdav" and opened Word 2007 by double clicking on a Word file. On the server side I have an Apache 2.0.63 with the integrated mod_dav and mod_dav_fs enabled running on Windows Server 2003. Locking does not seem to be the issue, because I am the only one testing/accessing WebDAV and the DavLock of Apache is empty. I am using Digest authentication and the user name looks like "someone@something" to prevent the domain problem. Disabling authentication doesn't solve the problem The whole thing boils down to compatibility issues with the Office 2007/Vista combination and WebDAV. Any suggestions or pointers are welcome. I am working on this Vista compatibility for a week now. It is horrible, whereas XP worked out of the box.... Hi Joe,

With the exception of MS Office Outlook, which can't have multiple active versions, if you use the 'custom' setup for Office 2007
you can choose which apps/features of the older versions to leave/remove. You may also want to review this article before starting.
