    - Programms won't run! Help! My computer runs Microsoft Office 2003. I never upgraded because I was happy with Office 2003, and Office 2007 costs too much. My computer was set up by a family member in a different state, but when I was given my computer by my family member, I was not given the CD-Rom for Office 2003. I never worried, because I never previously had a problem. Now, however, the only Office 2003 program I can get to open and run is Word. Excel, Publisher, Outlook, and Access won't open, and every time I try to open them, I first get an installation dialog, then I get a dialog asking me to insert my Office 2003 CD-Rom.     - insufficient permissions-office diagnostics <sigh> I will try again. When I posted a minute ago, it told me the website was "too busy" and apparently deleted my post, so sorry if I'm duplicating. So, I will RE-TYPE my entire message (thanks, MS). I've installed MS Office 2007 (trial) on my 2 year old Dell. It's been slow. I know, add RAM, which I will do. However, tried to run Diagnostics. I'm being told that I cannot because I do not have "sufficient permissions" to do so. That I need to access the Windows event logs. However, I'm the only user on this computer and I'm set up as the Administrator, so I *should* have full permissions.     - How to move back and forth in large documents? After confident use of Office 2003 for editing long documents and Master document I find there is little or no help on this in Office 2007. I am puzzled as to how poor the search for help is in returning relevant information. Searches for advice on moving around long documents produce 100 items of mostly irrelevant information, or unhelpful suggestions about scrolling.     - trebuchet MS font won't save to PDF from Word We're a print service provider and we get a lot of files in Word 2003. When I create documents using Trebuchet MS and then save them as PDF the font does not embed. I have the Embed all fonts checked as well as all subset fonts checked. I've also checked that the actual font is listed in the "Always Embed" column when saving to a pdf. Any ideas?? Also, when my clients send me Word documents using Trebuchet MS also, they have the same issue with saving them to PDFs and the font embedding. HELP, this is driving us nuts.     - Changing hyperlinks in lots of Word documents (batch) I have a ton of Word documents that have the names of document references set up as hyperlinks. For a printed technical report, I need to change each of the hyperlinks to the document reference followed by the URL. To hopefully clarify: Now: <hyperlink and document ref.> --> Want: <document ref.> (<URL>) So, I need a way of finding the hyperlinks in those Word documents, extracting the URL from the hyperlink, making the reference no longer a hyperlink, and appending the URL after the document reference.     - how do I get office reloaded after a destructive reload? I bought office 2007 and downloaded it direct to my laptop a couple months ago. Yesterday my laptop froze and then I got a blue screen telling me a probem involving a kernel caused my computer to be shut down to avoid further damage. It could not be restarted again without resorting to a full destructive reload. Now I want to know what I can do to get my office 2007 back without repurchasing it.     - Changed MDI file Association to Acrobat Reader I have an end user who was trying to open a MDI file. It would not open because Micorsoft Document Image Writer was not installed. My little end user decided that it could be "opened with" Acrobat Reader so he tried that with the option to "always use this program" when opening this type of file selected. When that didn't work he asked me to fix it. Now that I've installed the MDI options for him I need to associate the .mdi files with the Microsoft Document Image Writer program again.     - trouble uninstalling Office 2007 trial My new laptop came with a trial of Office 2007. I used it for 60 days and have decided not buy the full version. How do I uninstall the program?     - Clip Organizer Problems I recently upgraded 200 computers from Office XP to Office 2007. On many of them, there is no Clipart. In the Clip Organizer, My Collection doesn't even show up. I have tried to run the Add Clips to Organizer, Automatically but the next dialogue box doesn't show up, so it doesn't run and doesn't ask me where to look for clipart. Physically, all of the clipart is still on the system. I have tried reloading the clipart for the Media CD in Office XP. I have done a detect and repair from within Word and from within the Clip Organizer as well, but these still did not solve the problem. If I am in the Clip Organizer, the only Collection that shows up is Web Collection but if I click on it I get a message "Failed to Browse Collection. Class not registered.     - Office 2007 repurposed Commands Greying problem I want to enable and disable some of the built in commands on the Fluent UI toolbar in Microsoft word. Now I am having some trouble getting a built in command to be Invalidated so it calls its repurposed enabled routine again. so I set up an addin to load a fluent xml with a routine to pick up the Enabled status <command idMso="BulletsGalleryWord" etEnabled="SCommandEnabled" /> Now it calls the SCommandEnabled routine when the xml is first loaded and sets the enabled status a treat. now if I try to invalidate the control using m_Ribbon.InvalidateControl ("BulletsGalleryWord") it does not cause the Command to reread its values like it does for a user control.     - Corrupt .CAB file on Office XP I have had to re-format my disk and re-install Windows XP and Office XP. Win XP was no problem, but when I try to load Office XP from the disc, I get a message saying "Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Office1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used." I had no problem loading it the first time - about 18 months ago - so cannot understand why I now have a corrupt file on the disc. How can I get around this ??     - Source text in a translation is invisible "My question is very specific. I translate documents using SDL TRADOS, where I get a file which contains both the source as well as the target text shown in two different colours. At times it so happens that the source text is invisible or hidden, in which case when I had the version 2002 of MS word earlier, I would simply go to TOOLS>>OPTIONS, select the VIEW tab, check the option "View Source text" and confirm by clicking OK and the source text would be visible right away. However with MS word 2007 (I upgraded recently), I dont see any such setting. So what do I do if the source text is invisible and only the target text is seen in a translation??     - Adding an Outlook "Contact Card" to a website This is actually a website question, but I figured since it works with Outlook features I'd see if anyone here may have some ideas... I'm looking for a way to put a 'virtual card' of sorts on a website. What I want is a link, and if you click that link it will give you the option of saving some information directly into Outlook Contacts. (Essentially like sending a contact via e-mail, but over the web instead). Does anyone know a good way to do this?     - Tracking changes solution to version 2007 problem I was having a big problem with Word because while it was letting me save my Word docs with the tracked changes hidden, *unbeknownst to me* it was showing them to the recipient when s/he opened the document! So I just posted a suggestion a while ago that Microsoft should have a dialog box ... Well, turns out they sort of do. Go to Word options, then Trust Center, then Trust Center Settings, then Privacy Options, and under Document-specific settings, check the first item (â??Warnâ?¦â??). I tested it and even though it says its document-specific, it carries over to old and new docs, too. Unfortunately, it queries you for every save, but for me thatâ??s a small price to pay for controlling when my changes are and are not revealed.     - Newsgroup process is outrageously frustrating! I just spent a half hour in a big loop trying to do a fairly trivial thing in one of these Office newsgroups. I had posted a question and wanted to be notified of any replies. But, the problem that I was working on had to do with one of my e-mail accounts and Outlook, unfortunately, the e-mail account that would receive the notifications. Needless to say, I wouldn't be able to get them. So, I elected to edit my profile (little button on the right next to the Help button). This offers the option of changing the e-mail address to which the notifications are sent. So, I did that. But, in order to complete this change, Microsoft would send a verification message to the new address and I would need to click on a link in that message to verify. I received the verification message and clicked on the link. In Internet Explorer, the link led to a page that said : "Unknown Error. An unknown error occurred while processing your request. This is most likely due to a connection failure. Please try again." Being the patient guy that I am, I did retry maybe a half a dozen times over a couple of days, always with the same result. The original verification e-mail has some comments about dealing with problems in the process. I tried them all without success. So, finally, it says "If you continue to have access problems or want to report other issues, pleas Contact Us." The Contact Us is a link to a Microsoft Support page. But, this is a generic Microsoft Support page that begins its own long course into identifying for which Microsoft product I am requesting help. A long list, what should I pick?? I elect to pick Windows. After another long process it decides that I must pay for this help. HELP!!!! Is there a Microsoft ombudsman that I can petition?? I am tempted to buy a Mac!     - Excel & Word Crashes Within our company we use Office XP and 2003 and on a number of users machines Word and Excel crash when saving certain documents. It also appears that it is begining to effect more people on random documents other that the specific documents I know of. Originaly I put it down to our network printers and possible corrupt drivers so I removed the printers from the problem machines and still no joy.     - Unattended install seems to complete successfully but does not immediately install applications Hi I wonder whether anyone has any advice on my problem, as i have been struggling for a few days now. I am installing Office 2007 Pro through an unattended install. The event log ad the app management log file both show that the installation was successfull, but when I log onto the PC as the loal administrator the Office folder is there, but no actual applications have been installed and there is no entry in the program menu. After a few minutes the Configuration in progress window comes up and effectively installs Office, but obviously this takes ages ands I would like the entire install to happen before logon.     - Office Professional 2003 - sku111.cab I am running Windows XP Prof SP2. When office was installed it was done over a network and XP only had a single user. I recently created a new windows user called 'mon'. Now when 'mon' tries to run Excel, Windows installer starts...then cant find sku111.cab. As mentioned it was installed over a network that can no longer be accessed. I don't mind if 'user' can no longer access Office so long as 'mon' can. Surely the original disks are not required when a new windows user is created under XP? PS When I cancel the installer it then continues to start Excel with no apparent adverse effects.     - Office 2007 continually configures itself For some reason Office 2007 continually configures itself. It is installed, but every time I run one of the installed programs, it configures again and again. I have tried to re-install it, repair it, diagnose the issue, but I can't seem to fix it.     - Office Assistant in Office 2003 I have the paper clip. I want to change the assistant. I am now on Vista Home Premium with Office 2003. When I go to the gallery, I get an error message that says not enough memory. I am on a brand new PC and don't know why I would get that message.     - Office 2007 Enterprise continually "configures" For some reason Office 2007 continually configured itself. It is installed, but every time I run one of the installed programs, it configures again and again. I have tried to re-install it, repair it, diagnose the issue, but I can't seem to fix it. This is an install CD from my Technet subscription, but this happens when I use my retail CD of Office 2003 as well. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to correct this issue?     - Problem running the online interactive training Hi, I'm trying to run the various Microsoft Office online training courses that are available on the Microsoft website. However, I'm only able to see and hear one page... then when I click 'next' I can only see (but not hear) the next page... when I click to access a third page, nothing happens - so I can't see or hear the third page. I've found a way around it... but it's time consuming and a bit frustrating. If I view and listen to page one... then click next, so that I can see page 2... then exit that specific training course... then reload the course for page 1... then click next... I can see and hear page two... then I have to click next, exit, re-enter the course etc to see and hear page 3.... and repeat the entire process for each page. Try posting this in an Outlook Express news group - this is not one of =
them.
Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office and is what this group supports.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and has its own news =
groups.

Hi Chip,

You can set up an Outlook Express folder then a rule for incoming mail
under Tools=>Message Rules=>Mail
