Binder (.OBD) file opening

recently I deleted, by mistake, my Office 2000. I have a number of documents
tied up in binder files that I can't get access to. I have down loaded the
trial version of Microsoft Office professional 2007 and have tried everything
to get my binderfiles open. I hav called MS sales 3 times, cut off once, ran
out of time 2nd time and then the nice girl on the other end sent me links on
how to install the binder support option on the program. Unfortunately, I had
tried that a number of times and there is no icon for binder support in the
trial version. What I need to know is, is there that option in the full home
and Student version. If so, I will buy that version. If not, can someone
please tell me how I can gain access to my binder files?

That's a good one. I wish I had thought of that. lol. I have adh computer for
some time now and I don't have the discs. It may have been installed when I
bought the computer.

This is what I came up with as for Binder and Office 2007.

But since you don't have Office anymore, perhaps you may locate a cheap
copy of Office 2003 on Amazon and that has Unbind in in it.

Thanks Bob. Actually my sn gave me his MicrosoftWorks 2005. I jus loaded the
bare minimum and word and word did it for me. Poblem is solved

Yes it did work well. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get rid of
all the virus' I ended up downloading trying to find a program that would
work. Looks like I got rid of most of them. Pesky little buggers were even
affecting my keyboard. Thanks for your help.

Hi Gord,

Although you may not need it now, the Office 97 'unbind' utility will work with the Office 2000 .OBD files as well to extract them
from the binder to the individual files in the binder (Binder was discontinued after Office 2000). The Unbind utility was, as
mentioned, left out of Office 2007 but can be downloaded:

Thanks again Bob. I do have the free version of AVG as well as Malwarebytes,
which did most of the cleaning and many others. The works did place the
binder files into separate files so they can be viewed and edited as needed.
I have 2007 coming and will look at the download you've sent me.
