hey all,
i have to pcs
pc1 has win 2000 server and is primary domain controller
pc2 has xp sp2 on it

i joined pc2 to pc1 domain.
for some reason a particular user (the user that was created before i joined
the domain) doesn't require a password when logging into the domain.

anyone have any ideas why this may be happening?

thanks,
rodchar

This happens when the domain-resident user account has a
blank password.

You need to provide a far more detailed report. The following
details are important:
- When logging on, how many boxes do you see on the
logon screen?
- What do you enter/select in each box?
- Does this happen to all users on this machine or just to one?
- What happens when you change the user's password on
the domain controller?
- What happens when you change the user's password locally?
- What happens when you attempt to access shares that reside
on the server?
- What do you get when you execute these commands from
a Command Prompt:
net user "%UserName%"
net user "%UserName%" /domain
