I have a network with a mix of xp pro and home computers all with service
pack 2. One computer which is xp home, can access the shares on other
computers but no other computer can access its shares.

This computer is running avg free and avg antispyware free version.

I have enabled the guest account and created a few shares giving full access,
is there something else I should be doing ?

I seen where the Internet "worm" virus modem (at least on Norton and McAfee)
behaves exactly like a firewall, blocking the access if you try to access the
share by the name (\\PC1\share). However, if you try to access the exact same
share by the IP address (\\192.168.1.101\share) all access works. Check for
the Internet "worm" virus module(s) ans set it to allow NetBIOS name
resolution of your network IP subnet (192.168.1.1 --- 192.168.1.254)

I have worked it out !

Under windows firewall the 'No Exceptions' tick box was ticked, unticking it
fixed my network problems, No one has owned up to ticking it, so I dont know
how it would of happened.

Thanks for everyones advice.
