Thanks for the response Scott,
The wlan card is quite old but is already fixed to 11mbps and is talking
direct to the PDA, there's no router involved, just an ad-hoc setup until I
decide if I use wifi enough to justify a wifi router.
Just to test I stripped back the network bridge and fixed the IP's of the
PDA and WLan card and it pinged just fine between them. That's no good for
actual use but it proves the wlan connection to the pda is fine.
