I have 2 workgroup computers. One runs XP Media Center Edition and the other
is running Vista Home Premium. I have placed both computer in the same
workgroup and both of the machines see each other in the network
views/network map. However, when I double click each machine from the other
in the network view, access is denied. I have installed the Link Layer
Topology Discovery on both machines and have verified that the related
services are started for networking. On the Vista machine I have enabled
private network. When I try to connect using UNC, it gives me access denied
both ways. I have created a shared folder on both machines. My goal is to
be able to install an accounting software server version on the XP machine
and a client for the software on the Vista machine. I disabled both
firewalls and even tried enabling them and tweaking the vista exception list
with no luck. Please help.

Hi
Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings,
http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html
As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is
allowed to be shared.
