So I decided I wanted to set up a network for my wife and I to both use my
printer without her having to find and install the printer software. It
didn't work as well as I wanted it to and it left me with this old version of
Windows schemes and no picture in my Start Menu. I read a couple articles on
this and it said if your computer belongs to a domain/network you can not get
a picture and it is in some kind of safe-mode. So how do I get off of the
domain?

Domains only come in Windows XP Pro and then only when connecting to a
true Windows Server.

Hi
You can use a printer without drivers even if you are using Network printer.
I think that in the process of"Playing" around you messed up your Network
setting and the best would be to start again from scratch.
