I have a small network with a Vista Ultimate machine plus a few XP Pro SP2
machines that are all connected to a router that has wireless and wired
access. In all cases, I can see the wired machines from all machines, even
from those connected via wireless. I cannot see the wireless machines from
anywhere. My guess was that a software firewall was blocking access over
that connection, but I turned everything off and it had no effect. Even
thou I cannot see a wireless machine from a wired machine. I can ping its ip
address.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Check all / any anti-virus software. Several have Internet worm
blocking modules which work just like firewalls. You should be able
to browse to any wireless PCs if you try with the IP address (ex: \
\192.168.1.100 instead of \\MyPC.)

I know that Norton Anti-Virus Internet worm protection block the
"NetBIOS" name resolution completely. This need to be reconfigured to
let your local network to be accessable (192.169.1.1 to 192.168.1.254)
