AOL Broadband / Win XP networking confliction

I set up the router on PC1 using the AOL disk and instructions provided,
connecting by Ethernet. Set up PC2 using AOL disk and network adaptor. Shared
'Shared Documents' from PC1 with PC2. PC1 is shown amongst 'My Network
Places' on both PCs, but can't make PC2 visable on PC1. Have tried Network
Wizards.

Security software seems to contradict, stating that network belongs to PC2,
and that PC1 isn't on the network.

Which security software?

Firewalls (on both) must be letting File/Printer sharing thru

Anti-virus softwares (both) need to be told to allow "NetBIOS" name
resolution for the LAN for all "local" IP addresses (192.168.1.1 to
192.168.1.254.)

Windows XP workgroups need to be the same on both.

Something (folder or printer) may need to be set up on both in order
to have both show up on in the Network 'Places."
