Longer Audio Fade?
I would like to lengthen the audio fades. I found what seemed like a very
elegant solution from "papajohn", but was unable to execute his technique.
He suggested overlapping a muted audio clip over the clip you want to fade.
The problem seems to be that when you overlap two audio clips they simply
overlap at equal, constant volume (it does not gradually introduce one over
the other). Am I missing something in this approach? Is there another way
to extend the length of audio fade?

Cannot capture video on JVC mini DV
Since I upgraded to MM2 I cannot capture video from my
miniDv camera. It controlls the camera without any
problems it allows me to start the capture but I notice
when it starts the captured file size stays at 3 kb and
doesnt go up in size. If I switch the camera from play to
record I can see the preview window in MM2 and can even
capture video. It seems to only do it when I am going off
tape. I tried to use media encoder 9 and it does the same
thing.

the best procedure for getting the best quality possible.

Unknown error, plays only first clip
Hi,
I have captured in MM2 a one-hour old VHS tape. The file plays just fine at
Windows Media Player or inside MM2 if I import it without creating clips.
Unfortunately, if I set MM2 to create the clips, only the first one is
playable, the others show a dialog box with the message "Unknown error" when
I try to play them.
The file has about 800 megs, it's a wmv file, I don't know for sure which
codec it uses. It was caputred by MM2, using nVidia WDM 2 drivers, with a
GForce 4400 board.
Thanks in advance if someone can help!

Capture Problems with Laptop
This Packard Bell iGO 4451 laptop will not capture video using MM2.1 or any

manager. The firewire card, cable and camcorder all work immediately with
MM2.1 on my IBM Thinkpad laptop.
When I click on capture video, the camcorder will rewind, then go into the
play mode. MM2.1 logs 3 kb of video only and the clock does not increment.
There is no difference when selecting other settings or video quality. If I
cancel that then try again, it reports that there is no tape in the camcorder.

Runtime Error with MM2 HELP PLEASE!!!
I am running Win XP Pro and MM2 with Sp2. Had the

C:\program location\moviemaker.exe." Then MM2 crashes
and drops me back to the desktop.

In Sonic DVD I can place a title (to identify the location of a particular
picture) in a clip and adjust the font an size as required. I can then click

MM only puts the title in the middle of the clip, with minor adjustment
downwards, but to neither left nor right, and the font does not go small

Scene changes and DVD chapters
I'm a newbie when it comes to MM2. I really like the program, it is far
better and easier to use than Nero 6. I created my first movie in MM2 then
burned it to DVD using Nero, but I am very dissatisfied that I lose the scene
changes when I go into the DVD authoring application.
So while I'd like to continue using MM2 (it works *fine* for what I want to
do with the mini-DV home movies of my kids) I'd also like to explore a more
complete application that lets me keep my scene changes and use those as DVD
chapters directly. Currently I have to do these steps separately and it's
really a waste of time.
So my questions would be:
1. Can any DVD authoring application read the MM2 project file and use my
scenes as DVD chapters?
2. Is there an all-in-one package like Sony's "Click to DVD" that can
combine these steps?
Basically, I want to do something a bit more polished than directly burning
a DVD from my tapes, but I don't want to spend more than about 20-30 minutes
in front of the computer (capturing, encoding and burning times excluded).
Suggestions?
Thanks,

Save Movie Wizard is SLOOOOW!
I am trying to save my first movie and am using
MovieMaker 2.1 with Windows XP on a Sony laptop with
512MB of Ram and 3GZ processor, and plenty of space on
the hard drive.
The problem is that I started the save an hour ago, it's
13% done (and seems to be stuck there) and says it has
over 750 minutes remaining, and still climbing. The show
has a title slide, about 300 still images, and a 4 min.
movie.
Is this a normal amount of time for a movie like this to
be saved?
Why isn't it going beyond the 13% completed stage? Is it
just because it's using the processing power just to
calculate the remaining save time? Tag: WMM won't recognize my JVC miniDV as capture device Tag: 25286
MyDVD Wizard question.
Hi all....
I have installed MyDVD version 4.5 which has been recommended by a number of
people in these groups recently (Steve maybe you can help).
It does look good but I have a question about the wizard. The Wizard comes
up with "Welcome to the MyDVD Direct-to-DVD Wizard" and there are three
steps, "select menu style", "choose a name for your project" , and finally
"select the device MyDVD will record to and select the number of copies".
The problem is regardless if I choose to write to DVD or Hard drive the
"next" button never becomes active, the only option I have is to press
cancel where it drops me into MyDVD but then I cannot find a way to remove
the "menu style".
The exact version is 4.5.2 build 81390

Combining captured screen, audio and video for movie
I am using WinXp. My question is relating to Windows Media, Movie Maker 2.1,
and Producer.
We are a small business attempting to create a streaming video to be
published on cd as well as the web. Our goal is to seamlessly combine
captured screen footage, video footage from a digital camcorder, and audio.
For example, the movie would start out with video of the president speaking
to the viewer, then it would cut to the captured screenshots with narration
through mic.
Movie Maker is a great tool with a user friendly interface that we have
already used for creating audio/video files. However, when we import
captured screen files (created with Producer and Windows media) the
resolution makes it unusable.
Is there a way to create such a product using Movie Maker 2.1? Can the same
type of output (movie with title, transitions, etc) be created with Producer
or Windows media?
I'd appreciate any suggestions or recommendations. Thank you. Tag: WMM won't recognize my JVC miniDV as capture device Tag: 25282
