won't let me copy to a cd

when i try to save to a disc it keeps telling me that i don't have a burner, when in fact i have a dvd/cd burner on my computer

Papajohn, i have tried your advice but seem to be still having problems. When i right click on my computer it brings up my system properties. The categories include system restore, automatic updates, general, computer name, hardware, remote, and advanced. If i click on my computer it shows me the devices with removable storage cd drive e dvd drive f... if i right click on them and go the their properties i come up with categories such as general, auto play, and hardware. Under hardware i can check the properties and it is telling me that my devices are enabled. I can't seem to locate under their properties a recording tab.... Please helppppppppp Rob

Rob,

I'm following you until the end, but when I right click on my combo CD/DVD
read/write drive, and go to the properties, I see five tabs: General,
AutoPlay, Hardware, Sharing, and Recording. It's in that last one that I
have the checkbox to enable recording.
