windows movie maker

When ever i download an email wmv and go to play it in windows media player
it goes straight to movie maker and a message comes up saying cannot find
file.i.ve gone to the custom settings and made windows media player default
player and it keeps resetting itself back to current media player.I'd
appreciate some help on this subject....thanks

Hello Mark,

When you setup default file types for an application, they don't always get
set as the default by the system. If that happens, here's what you can do.

> Open a windows explorer window
> Browse to a directory where you have an existing wmv file
> Press & Hold down the CTRL button
> Move mouse over filename and press the right mouse button
(this assumes you have a right-handed mouse)
> From the menu, select "Open With->Choose Program..."
> In the "Open With" window, select the program name that you want to use.
If you don't see the program you want to use, select "Browse" to find it
> Select "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
> Select "OK"

This should set your system default for that particular file type.
