Hi all, I made a short movie with movie maker and copied it to a cd and I
can watch it with windows media player, I gave a copy to a friend, he has
windows XP on his PC and of course windows media player but when he tries to
watch the movie all he gets is the sound. Any idea what the problem is?

Did you encode it with Divx or Xvid codec? If he doesn't have the codec, he
won't see it.

I would be very surprised if my friend had done that on his PC, that's
probably what the problem is. Thanks Animal, I'll let you know.

I have a similar problem watching commercial DVD's on my computer. Only, I
get picture but no sound when trying to watch them with Windows Media
Player. Someone said it's a codec I don't have, but I don't know what that
means, or even what to do with it if I got it! Any help?
