I have a Sony Handycam and have been trying to upload files into Movie
Maker. The files are identified as video_ts files. They will not upload
although I can view them in Power DVD and windows media player. I am at my
wits end with this and would really like to get the videos into the program.
If anyone would help I would sure appreciate it. I am completely new to this
program and have no clue what I am doing wrong. Thanks!

see my website's Import Movie Source Files > Video > Discs page.

you need to convert the DVD files to ones that will work in Movie Maker....
before importing
