for some reason,every time i now try to import a file(picture or avi video
clip) into movie maker for editing etc,a message tells me it can not import
file -'unspecified error'.
is no help;have not changed anything,have done regularly before.
any comments?

I have posted this same question 3 times did this did that what they asked
when their suggestions did not work they just stopped helping if you get a

If this is happening continuously and with different files then the only
suggestion I can think of that will work is to reinstall SP2 thereby
reinstalling WMM.

thx but,unfortunately,-is a fairly new pc installation;xp home + sp2 all in
one! so not able to uninstall the sp2 as suggested.

You dont need to uninstall SP2. Just re-install it over the current
isntallation. Your user settings would be preserved by this process.

thx.hadn't thought of re-installing sp2.is this preferable to downloading MM
2.0 from download.com?

SP2 contains movie maker 2.1. If you already have SP2 installed obviously
installing lower version (2.0) on top of higher version is not a good idea.
