Hi daveM!
Video which plays back upside-down (even though it's encoded right-side up)
usually indicates the presence of a strange DShow video filter installed on
your PC. You can pick up filters from a variety of places, including other
video editing applications and 3rd party codec packs.
In general, I've seen reports of upside-down video with regards to
"bicubic_resizer.ax", "divxg400.ax", "ffdshow.ax" and "xvid.ax". You'll need
to look at the filters you have installed to see which one is causing the
issue. PapaJohn's page on "Problem Solving" with "Acceleration and Codec
Issues" is a great resource for helping to determine which filter is the
culprit.
