Hi,
I am a high school art teacher who is trying to help a student make a stop
motion animation. Our first 50 frames are black. The next frames are part of
our stop motion animation. We would like to put a video transition between
the black frames and the first frames of the animation. When we drag the
transition down and try to place it between the frames, we get the
"ghostbuster circle with the slash" and can't drop it. What are we doing
wrong?
Thanks

Whats happeninning is that the default duration of the transitions is longer
than the either of the still frames between which you want to put the
transition. Change the default Transition Duration from
Tools->Options->Advanced to less than 1/4th of the frame's lengths.

It would be easier if you remove the 49 black frames. Leave just one. Change
to Timeline view and entend the frame duration to whatever length you want
the blackness to last. Remember the length of the right hand frame should
also be more than the duration you want your transition to last.

I took your suggestion and lengthened the black frame but the frame to the right of the transition is set at .125 and I need to make just that one frame longer. Thanks for your patience in explaining this to me.
