    - Two problems I'm working on an AMV, and I've noticed a few things that I know aren't really supposed to happen: 1. If I watch my project so far from the beginning, it plays fine. But if I start, say, 20 seconds into the video, the music doesn't start at the point I paused at, but instead at one a few seconds earlier. 2. I split a clip into thirds and added [Fade In, From White] to two of them so I could get the flashing effect. On the third clip, however, it stops playing. I can watch the rest if I set the point to after the said clip, but then problem 1 comes into play. What's going on?     - Slide Show w/ Voice Over Hi, I'd like to prepare a lecture consisting of 40-50 slides timed to appear, disppear, and zoom in and out in synch with my voice-over to distribute to students on a DVD. I'm computer literate, but have never done this before. Can I do this relatively easily with, say, Microsoft Moviemaker and/or Photo Story 3. Or do you recommend getting something else?     - Memory Error - WMM Closes automatically Anyone ever see this happen in WMM 5.1? Instruction at "0x000000bc" referenced memory "0x000000bc". The memory could not be "read". It terminates the program. I can usually used Movie Maker for about 5 minutes before I get the Debug/Send Error box...if I move the box I can still use WMM, however, after about another 5 minutes, the above message pops up and WMM locks up...OKing or Canceling the warning simply term.'s WMM.     - Blur selected part of screen Is there a not-terribly expensive piece of software that works either as an add-in to WMM or as standalone that anyone can recommend that would allow me to blur a selected chunk of the screen? It would be the SAME chunk of the screen during the whole clip, so it wouldn't need to be dynamic, but it would be beneficial to outline a square or rectangular piece of the playback window and say "blur this." I know how to turn the music up and down with the slider manually, but how do I make it so that it does it automatically, and will it do that when I transfer the movie to a dvd? However, it seems that versatility is now lost in WMM 6; especially when it comes to widescreen formats, where the smallest setting is 3mb/s. Working on a laptop, my hard drive space is limited, and I would like to be able to save my videos in smaller formats. Will this option be available ever? As of now, I just save the files on my laptop, transfer them to an XP desktop (with WMM 2.1), re-save them in the smaller format, then transfer them back and delete the large one. Its quite a pain...     - Movie editor for windows pc hi Is it possible to edit quicktime movies on a PC running windows XP? Of course Windows own movie maker doesnt support its rival stuff. Is there anyway round this: ie download a codec?     - besoin d'aide SVP Hello, I'm new 2 the site, looks to be very tech saavy. I have recently purchased a MCE computer, has the WinTV PVR 150, I am trying to record some of my son's baby videos from VHS-C camcorder, using the s-video and/or yellow/white composite cables from the camcorder. I used Windows Movie Maker, captured video but no audio. Same using AVS video capture. I have Realtek HD audio, sound is hooked up to generic sound inputs connected to motherboard. I do not have a separate sound card. How can I enable capturing audio using these sources. I have been recommended to use coaxial, but shouldn't I be able to use other (better, reduce loss of quality) resources.     - snapshooting DVD images and grabbing clips of DVD video Hi All Does anybody know of a good, and simple, app that will enable the user to easily grab and extract 'chunks' of video from a DVD and also stills from a DVD? With regard to the latter, I've tried ALshow to do this but I've got to be very quick with the old keys. It would be great if the prog allowed me to step through the videos frame-by-frame so that I had more control over my snapshooting. Any ideas?     - problem finishing movie to DV My father's computer is giving me trouble. I can use WMM without any problems until I go to Finish the movie. I am sending it back to my DV and everything looks normal except that no video or audio are recorded on the camcorder. It says "Finish" as if all went well, but there's nothing on my tape.     - WMM won't recognize my Sony camcorder Hi, Although I previously have not had any problems and have made plenty of WMM projects, lately my computer won't recognize my Sony camcorder. So I can't capture any video. However, I am able to capture using the lesser quality capture setting of DV-AVI. This doesn't work out so well because when I play the movie it get shakey and tends stick or freeze up.     - Saving Files for the Next Generation I have a lot of family videos that I captured through Movie Maker, Imported into Nero, made it pretty with chapters and titles and saved the project to DVD and my computer. Now what. I have a lot of large files taking up space on my Hard drive that I want to get rid of. What happens when technology changes and DVDs are replaced.     - How do I save my movie to DVD with WinDVD? OK, it's taken me forever to fiddle around with MovieMaker and do my movie, finally got it all finished and now am struggling with how to convert it to a DVD. I managed to get to the Save Movie File, and saved it to "My Computer" as DV-AVI, but then when I played it back, all my audio was stuffed it (my audio was jumping all over the place when the clips faded to the next). So, after reading heaps of posts on this board, followed some instructions to un-installed Internet Explorer 7, and hey presto, after saving my movie again but this time as "High Quality Video (PAL). So I now have my file and the sound is working, but can't for the life of me figure out how to convert it to a format for recording to DVD. I've searched through this site, and read about all sorts of programs I can use. And although I have a few of these programs (have never used any of them before) I am at a loss how to proceed with them. I have Sonic RecordNow v6, but when I open this it tells me I don't have the right version of Media Player. I have InterVideo WinDVD, but am totally lost with what to do with it. I can play my movie on it, but can't see any other options here. I have downloaded the free trial version of ConvertXtoDVD, and after waiting yonks for it to download, I went to convert my movie, but it said it would have a watermark through the entire thing (not at all what I want!) Can anyone please explain if (and how) I can use WinDVD to do this?? Please help! I am so frustrated with this, have been surfing for answers for hours and hours and hours now! Argh!     - Video Capture Issue I have an ATI Video TV tuner. It has inputs for TV wire(can't remember the technical term) and Svideo. Using Windows Movie Maker capture wizard, I will get to the record screen. If I have selected the TV input, the video will display properly. If I have a device (my DvD player or camera) plugged in via Svideo, the video will display for 3-5 seconds before becoming colored snow across the screen.     - Help and Guidance Please My old video camera died an unfortunate death in a fire, so I now have to buy a new one, but I am a bit swamped with all the alternatives. I have worked out that I don't want a DVD one, so it comes down to a choice between Mini DV or HDD. Does anyone have any advice as to which way I should go, or advice on any particular models? Once I did, all the individual clips appeared with a big red "X" in the middle and now cannot be accessed. 1. How can I recover them? 2.     - movie maker - asf not displaying when played Hi, I'm Suzanne. I've been using movie maker for some time now, but I recently used another persons camera to take some clips. This camera has asf format and when I drag a clip into the storyboard and press play to view it, I can't see anything. Even though the clip is playing. I can't hear any sound after I've captured from a video device. I've never
used this bfor, and don't know what is wrong or what to do. I might even be
