    - wont publish Hi there... I am making a video as a gift for a friend on my windows movie maker. I have the vidoe done and have watched it several times. Now I am trying to publish it, but everytime I hit publish, the program freezes and re-starts. I know that the problem is the video clip I have. It is a 20second or so video clip that I took on my camera. I deleted this from the video and it published fine, but the video just isn't the same without it! Does anyone know how I can get it to publish with the video? I have made a video before using a video clip from my camera, so I'm not sure why it isn't working!     - Movie Maker Error I have converted several flv files to wmv using a third-party program called WinFF. The converted files play fine in WMV, but I would like to edit them. I import the file in MM and can edit them. When I go to save the file, I get the following message about 40% through the saving movie file process: "Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again."     - No such interface supported Whenever I try to capture video Move Maker displays a dialog box that says "no such interface supported".     - After SP2, still have MM 2.0 I have windows xp sp 2 with all latest updates, but my Movie Maker is version 2.0.3312.0. I did a search for moviemk.exe which i believe is 2.1, but it is not on my hard drive. I think this happened because I did not realize 2.1 was already on my computer, and download 2.0, so maybe it overwrote 2.1? not sure... So, how do I get MM 2.1? Can I download it seperately?     - Help - PS3 & MM - poor quality Just used PS3 for the first time and find it's great. Here's my problem. I am making an 8 min or so movie for work. I started with PS3 using 81 photos while an mp3 is playing. The preview and saved file works perfectly. This is 4 mins of the 8 mins. I need. I then imported this wmv into MM to add other clips and pictures. Before I did any other additions, I saved this as a movie in MM to view it. The problem is it runs choppy with the zoom effects very poor. I have been making mini movies each year for awhile. In the past I end up adding the movie file into powerpoint. This year I am being more creative and find it will be impossible to add to PP and intend to burn the final production to a DVD. What solutions are there to add to the PS3 imported wmv into MM while adding the remaining 4 mins of clips I need and saving as a smooth movie to burn? Or am I asking too much from the software?     - Movie Maker lost the abiliy to capture in DV-AVI from a camcorder Windows Movie Maker has lost the ability to capture video from a DV camcorder in DV-AVI format. The DV-AVI selection is now grayed out and not available. It worked when last used about 1 month ago. Rebooting windows does not help. Windows automatic update is on. Movie maker automatic codec download was off. I turned on automatic codec download and imported an AVI video file on the computer without fixing the problem although from the wait before starting the import I suspect a new codec was loaded.     - TITLES and CREDITS One Problem I have is. I have a problem dropping text to be overlayed on a video in the exact spot I need it. I drag it with my mose and it will put it at (lets just choose a number) at 1:00:30 or it will let me put it at 1:01:07. Is this a function of my mouse not being sensitive enough?     - Problem getting error writing video file My son is trying to save a video to file and keeps getting an error that really doesn't make sense. This error occurs sometime even before it tries to write the files, and at other times, it writes the file 10% of the way, then gives the error. The error message indicates there are are 3 possible problems: 1. There is not enough disk space. 2. The source files are missing. 3. The destination where the file is being written to is no longer available. None of these 3 conditions are true. The hard drive has 44GB of space, and the size of the video file we are trying to save would be about 10MB. We have also tried writing the file to a SD card just to test this situation, but we get the same error. We are able to play the actual video through within Movie Maker itself, which I am assuming means that the source files are avialable. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue? I can select all pictures at the top level ( like in the WDW collection), but each and every video needs to be dragged so I have to scroll all the way up - to the left - select it. then drag it to the lower right ,etc. Is there ANY way to speed that up ? While creating a project and dragging/dropping pictures/video in there ( A LOT), how can/would I know how big the wmv fiile will be ?     - Saving project and reloading on another PC I am working on a project on two different computers. I imported the video clips, edited as necessary till I was partially done. I then saved my project. Later, on the second computer, I reloaded my project and my timeline shows the clips, but with red Xs.I am accessing the same resource on both PCs, that is, all the imported clips and files are available to both projects. One difference is that the reource maps to drive E: on one PC and to drive F: on the other. What is the best way to solve this?     - Find lost untitled project or recover yesterdays work?? Is there any way to find an untitled project - other than basic stuff? I have spent 15 hours on a project that I can not find. It was saved and re-opened many times. I started this project a couple days ago, every time moviemaker froze and I had to close it, when I opened it again it would say searching for.... and my project would come up. I even hit the save button a couple times, but never named it - Because it was fine and I wasn't done. This morning when I opened it and worked on it and it did its freeze thing and I closed and re-opened it - it was fine. Then after a couple times of that, when it opened - it opened the last NAMED project I was working on. The named project was the end part of the new untitled project. I have used searched, used restore then un-did restore, read 50 websites, read help here.. I have looked everywhere.     - quicktime mov to avi to WMV . WMP plays them fine but WMM still says bad codec New camera output = .mov files. I didn't know QT rather than AVI until I used it on vacation and since I bought it at CompUSA and they went out of business - I own the problem. Currently: I used Total Video Converter to get into AVI format and Windows Media player opens the avi files fine. YET, when I now try to add them to a WMM project the message says " cannot find codec to PLAY file ...". I have the "autocheck for codec" box checked. So this "codec that it 'looks for'" has to be at at certain site at microsoft.com ?? How would I know what it "knows about" and how would I specify which to use ?     - Scrolling text goes black during DVD playback I've made a movie, using Movie Maker 2, where one section near the middle has a title block with a narative running as scrolling text (like the Star Wars intro.) This scrolling text runs fine on the computer during playback. Movie is then saved and burned to a DVD using Nero software. The DVD plays fine in other players until the scrolling text is reached. The screen goes blank after a few seconds of showing the text and, as soon as the text shot is finished, the remainder of the movie plays fine.     - How Do I recover DVD option I have been making and burning movie's to DVD for months now and all of a sudden I lost the option to burn to DVD WHY ?.
