sonic mydvd crashes ...

Good day.

I have been having a lot of problems using My Dvd 5.2 deluxe. Once I have
installed it works fine and I am able to create a dvd. However the next time
I open the prog., again I get a error message saying "sonic myDVD has
encountered a problem and needs to close,, We are sorry .,..... etc etc"

I use sonic to write to dvd after editing in movie maker

I am using windows xp with service pack 2

Then I un-install and re-install together with the motion style's package ..
and the same happens over and over again .

Is there a general news group for digital video editing and dvd authoring ?

I take that Sonic's Mydvd is one big joke ?
The pirated version or the real one ... or both ??

Hello,

Most of the well informed technical reviews do not have very much in the
way of nice things to say about the latest version, and what they have to
say about previous versions is not that good....I cam across one review
that compared it with Nero 6....It was very embarrassingI have to
say....for roughly the same money the MyDVD column had a few check marks
and Nero had LOTS.

I use Nero and I have heard a lot of remarks about MyDVD....Only one
question springs to mind....why would anyone be stupid enough to buy MyDVD
when they can have what is generally regarded as the world leader in all
things "disk" for the same price.
