    - Audio "Skips" When I saved my movie to tape in my camcorder the most recent audio that I put into it skipped throughout the songs. I converted these songs to .wma files via Roxio East CD Creator 5. The first set of songs I used do not skip and play fine. I don't think I used Roxio to convert those (I stumbled through the proces at the time -- trying anything -- and cannot remember exactly how I converted those files). I have Windows Media Player and MUSICMATCH Jukebox but I cannot figure out how to convert regular music file from CD's in either of those two programs. Any advice? Thanks in advance. The developers probably thought that playing video via remote desktop would be to agonizing, and that is mostly the case However, you can still do plenty, especially using the remote computer as a movie rendering workhorse.     - save movie file to hard disk I can't save a movie file to my computer. First I click File->Save Movie File. Next I enter a file name for the saved movie and I choose the place to save the movie. I select the default name and I choose "My Computer" for the place to save my movie. Finally I select "Best quality for playback on my computer (recommended). I get an error. "Cannot Complete the Save Movie Wizard." It indicates I should verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available. They are and they are called test.wmv and test.Untitled.MSWMM. It indicates that I need to confirm the "saving location is still available". It is. It indicates I need "enough free disk space available". I think 3GB is enough. The original file, test.wmv is 5 MB. The test.Untitled.MSWMM is 695 KB. I'm running Windows XP with 640 MB of RAM. I have 3 GB free space. It's a Pentium III. Any ideas on a fix for this problem.     - Rename Codecs Version 1.5 Hi there, Owing to a couple of non related (to the program above) problems the release of version 1.5 has been delayed. I will still put it up for download, probably tomorrow now. The new version 2.0 release has also been delayed but should be available before the end of the month. In the meantime, here is the new write-up for the current program. ================================================= Your one-stop-don't-need-to-look-anywhere-else Solution is with a program called "Rename Codecs". Instead of reading miles of dross that is full of maybe's and perhaps's just run the program, it takes a few moments to identify all of the known codecs that cause this problem and gives you the opportunity of renaming them. You can then run Movie Maker and immediately determine if it actually was a codec issue. If it was a codec issue Movie Maker will now run properly. If it was not the issue, you have lost nothing more than a short amount of time. Whether or not it was a codec issue you must run the program once more and restore the problem codecs to their original names. The two procedures together can take less time than it did to read this message and a whole lot less than reading mountains of bumph that may or may not apply to you. The program "Rename Codecs" is free and available from my website. While there it would be a good idea to check out the tutorial on how to run the program...that will take around one minute of your time!!!     - VCD easy works Well Hi, I used WMM2 for the first time this last week and made mothers day gifts for my mother and my wifes mother. Worked pretty well except when it came time to burn. I used nero at first and it had all sorts of problems with drivers messing with each other. I downloaded VCD Easy and it took care of those pretty well and burned them without any problems. I used FX Video conveter and it was pretty easy to use too. My question is there a way to get a menu on a VCD like in a DVD start up? Do I need to use Nero or some other software to do this?     - PC to Camcorder choppy video I have edited some video in MM2 and have tried to send it back to the camcorder tape. The resulting video is a choppy mess with alot of blue screen. I know the answer is to reduce the amount of resources my PC is using. I have done this successfully in the past by following the steps laid out.     - Strange behaviour on dv-avi files I report here something strange I have noticed with MM2. My input file is a 5 min long standard dv-avi file created with another editing program (MovieXOne). The file is inserted in the MM2 time line. When rendered as is to dv-avi, it takes about 3 minutes to render and the quality of the output file seems perfectly unchanged as compared with the original. But if a simple fade out to black effect is applied (it should only affect the last seconds of the video), the rendering takes about 20 minutes and the quality of the output file is clearly affected during the entire movie (a sort of "grid" of pixellisation appears slighlty but clearly on the entire movie). The workaround I had to apply is to cut the movie into two pieces: a big one of 5min-3 sec. and a small one of 3 seconds on wich the fade out is applied. Some ideas about that strange problem?
