In MM 2.1, in the Video Capture Wizard under Video Setting, it has
these options:

1) Best quality for playback on my computer

2) Digital device format (DV-AVI)

3) Other settings

However, for some reason option #2 is grayed out, and not selectable.
Why can it not be selected? And, isn't the AVI format more lossless
than WMV, so wouldn't that be the best choice when capturing video that
will be edited and written back to a DVD-r?

BTW, I'm using a 3-month-old Dell WinXP Media Center 2005, 3.4 GHz, 2
GB RAM system, with an NVIDIA GeForce 6800 video card, an Angel TV
tuner card, and an SB Audigy 2ZS Audio (D8CO) sound card.

Thanks.

Re: AVI not a selectable option for video capture. Why? by PapaJohn

the DV-AVI option is only active when you capture from a digital video
source like a digital camcorder via firewire... it's not an option when you
capture from analog sources.
