    - Please please help I have several movie projects completed using MM2 and saved to my computer which the end result is a .wmv file. However, U-Lead software will not burn those files to DVD to playback on my DVD player. I was advised to get software to convert from .wmv to .mpg and I tried EasyX Video Convertor, but it keeps giving an error message on 99% of the completed task which is often 50mins plus waiting. I have read other advice on the site and saved an MM2 project as an AVI format and then succesfully burnt to DVD, however, then end quality is often quite poor compared to the .wmv format played back on WMP. I'm reluctant to spend much money, but would spend a bit more if someone can advise me of the best solution. Like many others I like MM2 as I think it is very user friendly and the extra effects from purchasing Plus! are great and I want to stick with it but I desperately want to burn the end result to DVD and hopefully without losing the quality.     - Moviemaker finished projects - copyright coded I'm unsuccessful in trying to take a completed Moviemaker project that has been transferred back to my Sony DV camcorder, and then trying to copy onto DVD via a DVD recorder.     - MM1/Sony TRV22 DVCam/audio capture message I am operating WinXP Media Edition that came with MM1. I also have a Sony TRV22 DVCam that I am trying to capture from. I continue to get the message, "There is a problem with the audio capture. Check that the device is config properly..." I am new at this and have captured (all from the DV Cam)/edited/burned several DVD's this past week, trying to get it right. Everyone I have made is terrible quality. I've tried Arcsoft Showbiz/MyDVD, Dazzle Movie Star 5, Pixela Image Mixer (came with camcorder) and they have all been grainy or sluggish when burned.     - Re-Linking a Source File/Finding I created a clip collection "test" and worked wonders with the project as a whole. The problem I seem to have now is that, somewhere along the line, I saved and possibly renamed a source file. Which file that would be is unknown to me. When I open my project and try to resave it as something else, an error message appears. What have I done When originally completed and the files were in order, I tried to email it to family and wasn't allowed to do so because it was too large. I went to Microsoft and tried to save as they noted, with other methods, but it still says it is too large How can I find the proper files when I cannot see any red "x" marks?     - .WMV Problems Someone please help! I'm, trying to create a working video file from Windows Media Player in .WMV format. My computer is running WinXP. I edited the movie in MS Movie Maker and saved to my harddrive in .WMV format, and the video (picture and sound) launched in Windows Media Player immediately and played beautifully. However, I have tried to play the same file on other computers, (Win2000NT) and Media Player will only play audio - plus there is an error message that Internet Explorer is missing a "compressor" file.     - recording sound Hello , I have just upgraded from Windows movie kaer to version 2. I used to be able to record sound without video. This does not seem to be working correctly with version 2 of movie maker. The sound recorder accessory in windows can only record 60 seconds of sound.     - Quality of USB vs. i.Link? I am making my first movie and imported video using a USB connection. I am wondering whether, for purposes of picture quality, it is worth getting a Firewire. Has anyone tried both to see whether a firewire provides noticeable quality improvements? Also, I imported all video at "highest quality" but when I view it "full screen" in MM2, it has lost resolution. Will I "get back" the resolution when I burn it to CD or is that just how it works?     - Imported movie sound runs at double speed When i Import an MPEG file which i recorded on my "Sony Smart Zom DSC-P92" digital camera it runs the sound at double speed but the picture at normal speed.     - Rewriting to tape Not sure this is specifically a Movie Maker problem, but would appreciate any advice. I have captured footage from two seperate dv tapes and want to consolidate them onto one tape (simple sequential connection). Whenever I do that, the sound gets a minor corruption on the final tape. It's not bad - just a short dropout every 20 or 30 seconds. That happens no matter what I use to write the tape. Have tried Movie Maker 2, Pinnacle 7 and Ulead Video Studio 6. In each case the corruption is slightly different and never major, but enough to be annoying. I have used Ulead to burn a VCD and that is perfect. Playing the AVI files on Media Player also gives perfect performance. I'm running an Athlon 1800 with 512 meg of memory and lots of disk capacity so I would have thought I had enough performance, yet I have a sneaky feeling that the problem is performance related.     - problem adding sound to MM2 I finished video and wanted to add audio clips from some CDs I have. I copied songs I wanted to media player and then tried to import audio to MM2. The message came up that it was in a format that could not be read by MM2.     - Problems Sending File Back to DV camera I successfully transferred a short from my Canon GL2 camera to m computer. And now I want to transfer the file on my computer back to anothe miniDV. Basically I want to make copies of the miniDv short. But it won' transfer properly. I followed all of the directions correctly, and it doe transfer and play back onto my camera.     - Capturing sound with video using older style video 8 recorder Thanks for the answer to my last question guys. I can sucessfully capture sound and video with my DV camera via firewire. The problem I am now faced with involves the transfer of older movies that were recoreded on my sony video 8 recoreder. I plug the "video" cable from my computer capture device to my video 8. I then connect one end of a "y adapter" to my sound card and the the other to the audio output on the camera. I then start up the Windows Movie Maker software and choose my audio setting. When I am creating the video with Windows Movie Maker I can see and hear my movie in the preview window. When I attempt to playback the newly created files I can see the video but cannot hear the audio. Can anyone help? The old tape is alreading starting to fall apart and I need to convert it ASAP.     - Burn to DVD I made my first movie in MM2. Easy and I liked it...the only problem I have is burning it to DVD. I have the MyDVD program version 4.5. I had to first save the MSWMM file that MM2 creates to a WMA file. I then open that file wity MyDVD and tried to burn the DVD.     - DVD Playback quality I am currently using a digital camcorder that only has DV-OUT. My intention is to use MM2 to edit my movies and then burn them to DVD using MyDVD5. Should the end qulaity of my DVD based movie be close to the original recording or will I notice a vast difference? I have read that the best option is to output back into the camera and then record off that, as my camera does not have DV-IN this is not possible, I have considered changing the camera but would prefer not too. As a novice, I enjoy using MM2 because of it's simplicity, how easy is MyDVD5 to use? should I just use this to burn the DVD and do all editing in MM2 still?     - Locking/Snapping clips to timeline? Is there anyway to lock down or "snap" clips to the timeline?...I have music that I am using and want certain clips/transitions to occur at specific times during the music, but when I trim/edit any of the clips prior to the transition, then everything is offset from the music.     - Plays only on CD-RW? I recently made my first movie with movie maker2. I saved the movie to my hard drive. Then burned the movie to my CD.     - mm2 distorts sounds or won't play at all I have been working on a mm project for my family that is using strickly pictures (no movie clips) and sound. I was using .wav files and everything was working fine. When I came back to the project a few days later only 2 of the 20 sounds I used worked properly. The rest either played at 2-3x the speed or it just sound like a squelchy white noise. I found that the 2 sounds that did work were mp3's. Soooooooo, I changed my sounds to mp3s' but excluding the 2 mp3's that originally worked all the mp3's are doing the same thing. I have tried everything that I can think of.     - Titles and Audio Sync I insert titles into footage using mm2. All seems OK and I burn the project to DVD using MY DVD. When I view the finished DVD, one of the titles has made the audio on all the following footage to be out of sync, the same time delay as the length of the title. Take this title out and the sync is fine. The other titles cause no problem. I have experimented with different ways of inserting titles and the sequence of adding footage afterward, but can't work out why the difference! What is the right way to insert titles into footage? The FBI has installed gps tracking devices in my car, tracked me like an animal, wire tapped my phone and has been monitoring all my web surfing activities for 2.5yrs and completely dehumanized me. The FBI agents have been following me 24X7X60X60 everywhere including grocery stores, retail stores, malls, restaurants and movie theaters. The FBI agents who were following me have at times verbally and racially abused me in retail store and grocery store parking lots by shouting at me inanities. One FBI agent once tried to ram into my car from behind with a comcast van and came within one inch of hitting me from behind. There was no traffic altercation between us and there was no traffic on the road. The FBI agent in the comcast van never tried to overtake me and was very angry at me and hated me for no reason. I have been unemployed for close to 3 yrs and When I send resumes to potential employers, the sadistic FBI agents who were monitoring my email and websurfing, have been badmouthing and assasinating my character with recruiters and jeopardizing my job opportunities for the last 2.5 yrs. The FBI has been interfering in my personal life for no reason. The FBI has completely destroyed and denied me any sort of privacy for 2.5 yrs. Each and every word I type and post on the web is being monitored and each and every email tapped. The sadistic FBI has forced me to live like a virtual prisoner for 2.5 yrs with zero privacy and 24 hr real time video focused on me. I cant talk to friends, family members and prospective employers without the fear of being over heard and recorded. I am afraid of doing everything and anything without fear. I am not a terrorist. I am not even a muslim. I dont have any muslim friends. I am not a drug smuggler. I did not kill anybody. I did not threaten to kill anybody. I dont have a record like gottis or escobars. I have a mini dv camcorder. When I am done capturing video with Movemaker 2, the video comes up as one long clip, no scene detection at all. I have the "create clips" box checked. Also, when I select the one long clip and click on create clips in the taskpane, no clips are created. The program goes through the motions of creating clips but there is still just one long clip. I captured this same movie seperately in movieshaker and the scenes were detected just fine. How can I get MovieMaker to create clips

See the Importing Source Files > Video > Intro page of my website for a
section about how MM2 handles auto clip detection... with digital sources it
uses timecode data.

Sorry, I don't have an answer. Just wanted to let others know, I have the same problem. Problem only occurs when I capture in DV AVI format. Any other format will create scenes. I am a beginner in video editing. When I started, I tried to capture a few minutes only and it worked. Moviemaker created scenes. However, after I captured 1 hour, it changed. I had one long clip which also doesn't show any 'opening' picture any more. Additionally to being unable to create scenes, I now have a black background with violet coloured rectangulars. I have tried to uninstall, clean up my system and re-install moviemaker, unfortunately that didn't change anything.
