I don't know if i quite follow you Jenbob, but here is what I would do.
I assume you have the movie already on your hard drive. If you import it
back into (or 1st time) Windows Movie Maker, you should then drag it down
to the 'timeline'. You should be able to preview the 'movie' just to see
that
it plays.... Then, you can choose 'save to my computer'.....that will
bring up a
screen that allows you to first NAME your movie, and then select the location
where you want to SAVE your movie. Clicking 'next' will bring you to the
setting
screen which allows you to pick the format/size/quality of your
movie....fill in the
CIRCLE next to the words 'other settings'.....then on the pull down menu you
can choose to save your movie in DV-AVI format. It is about the fifteen
choice
down the list. When you choose that, you can also look at the bottom of that
screen and see the approximate size of your movie, and that it will be saved
in
720x480 pixels which is the best choice for later putting your movie on DVD.
Of
course, the quality will not improve if your movie was already of much lesser
quality already.
You should then be able to use your Sonic program to make your DVD with a new
DV-AVI originally formatted movie. I don't know why it wouldn't have
authored
your DVD from whatever format it was in before though.
