Hello again - first the good news - firewire cable arrived, camcorder
connects fine, spent a couple of hours yesterday on my first ever
project of 12 minutes which I saved as a 45 meg .wmv file and which
plays just fine for me in windows media player :)

But today I went to open the project to save it as an .avi file (as I've
read here that's an option too and - as it's for a friend and I don't
know what her pc plays easily - so I thought I'd put both saved versions
on a cd for her so that one at least should play).

But the project is gone ... no .mswmm files at all where it was ! Does
that mean you can only save a project as one type of file ? and if you
then want to do what I wanted to do and save it as another type of file
you have to start the project again ?

Thanks in advance for any advice !

Regards, Val

If you saved your completed project...
File / Save Project As...

Your .mswmm project file should
be in your My Videos folder unless
you directed it to a different folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\>user
name<\My Documents\My Videos

Saving a file in a new format does
not overwrite the original.

How dozy am I ? (don't answer that !) I *always* save files under
shared documents, except of course last night it seems - there it is
just where you said it would be ... Phew.

Thanks John
