I create and save a Project to my hard drive after entering a file and
folder name.
Then save it to Save a Movie and follow the Wizard. When I go to My Videos
(where I saved it to) and click on the icon, I get the popup ".wmv is not a
valid WMM Project File. To importa picture, audio or video file to use in
your Project, on the File menu, select Import to Collections." I do that but
to no avail when I try to pull it up again from My Videos folder.

What am I doing wrong? My goal is to retrieve it from Nero 6 to burn the
file to a dvd hopefully to be played on most stand alonr dvd players.

The project is a collection of information which tells MM what to do at a
certain cut point or transition etc. The save movie saves the finished movie
as a "movie". Movies can be imported into a new MM project. If you want to
use this movie in nero for making a dvd, save it using the save movie as,
like you did before, and choose the dv-avi option. This can then be used in
nero to make the dvd.
