editing with original sound track
Hi everyone ...
1. How do you keep the original sound-track while adding new scenes into the
clip ... In other words I have some footage of my nephew singing the
Australian anthem ,, and I want to add clips in between of the aussie
scenery while keeping the original soundtrack ...of him singing ...
I think a person can do this type of editing with adobe premier ,,,where you
keep the original soundtrack while adding different scenes.
However I obviously have to keep the sound synchronized ,,,
2. Also when editing a wedding for instance ... when I cut out some unwanted
footage ,,, what is the best way to merge the soundtrack so it doesn't sound
like it's skipping. Should I fade out and fade in on the 2 clips on the
soundtrack??
Thanks..... looking forward to some expert replies ,,,

No Fire in my Wire... Please help!
I just got an Agere (FW323-06 Chip Set)
1394 Host Controller Card and I cant get my new WinXP
(Emachines C2684) to recognize it at all.
After installing it into the PCI slot (I have tried
all 3) WinXP is suppose to recognize the Plug and Play
card but nothing happened... as if no card/s installed.
So...
I tried using the "Add hardware" but it dose not
recognize any new hardware and asks me if I have
already installed it.
- I choose "yes" then select "add new hardware
device".
- Again it finds nothing so...
- I continue and select "IEEE 1394 Bus Host
Controllers" and I get "(unable to find any drivers
for this device)"
Any suggestions??
Thanks in Advance,

Lockup Part 2
Hey,
Everyone, thanks for the responses so far. But alas, I'm
wearing the "o-fer collar." I have adjusted the page
settings and gone through, in desperation, and renamed
every .ax file that I found. (I tried each one before I
went to the next.) No luck. Any other ideas? Would a

since it is not listed in my coontrol panel to remove. If
all else fails, hate to ask, but any recomendations on
other software?
Thanks again!

MM2 audio buzzing
When I create a DV_AVI file using MM2, with wav audio input, the output avi
audio is very strange. It seems like someone knocked the peaks off of the
base line or maybe smooshed them down. It creates a sort of metal buzzing
noise when played back. The source wav file is fine. No other program has a
problem. Tag: not right color after rending Tag: 9038
Playing timeline
Whenever I try to play the full timeline back in MM2, it
plays the sound but doesn't display the clips. However,
it will play the sound and pictures for individual clips.
The timeline only has a couple of very very short clips,
so there shouldn't be a length/size of clip issue.
The same computer also still has MM1 on but will
successfully playback the timeline in that version.
Any clues? Tag: not right color after rending Tag: 9033

PappaJohn?
I see a reference to PappaJohn's web site. Could someone
supply me witht he site addy as I am having problems with

The main problem at the moment is saving a movie.
When I click save and give film a name MM then starts to
save the file and either gets a small pecentage done and
then stops (MM freezes though computer is still workable)
or the time indicated goes upwards and continues to do so
until I bring up task manager to cancel MM.
I have previously saved a larger movie, using virtually
the same files. The last time I saved a movie was just
prior to installing the latest IE accumlative update
(issued just a few days ago) Could this be the reason for
inabillity to now save?

How Can I change the file extension?
I need some help! I had saved several video files of my wedding ceremony to a CD while I was reformatting my computer. Before I had went through with the formatting, I ensured that the files could play off of the CD (to which they could). So I formatted my hard drive, to which all the original files were deleted. Now, I have the files on CD (with file extensions as .MSWMM) and they now won't play on my Movie Maker.
PLLLEEAAASE someone help me! In reading other posts, I have read that you need to save the file in .ASI or .wmv or other extensions. How can I convert these saved files to reflect a readable extension so that I can see my videos again? Is it even possible? Please someone respond to this! Thanks. Herewith MONEY $$$$$ For YOU
Don't Cheat
I found this on a bulletin board and decided to try it: A
little while back, I was browsing through news groups and
e-mails, just like you are now, and came across an article
similar to this that said you can make thousands of
dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of
$6.00!! So, I thought, "Yeah right, this must be a scam,"
but like most of us, I was curious, so I KEPT reading.
Anyway, it said that you send $1.00 to each of the six
names and addresses stated in the article. You then place
your own name and address in the bottom of the list at
$6.00, and post the article in at least 200 people 0r news
groups. (There are thousands) No catch, that was it. So
after thinking it over, and talking to a few people first,
I thought about trying it. I figured, "What have I got to
lose; except six stamps and $6.00 right, right?" Then I
invested the measly $6.00.
WELL GUESS WHAT!!!
Within seven days, I started getting money in the mail!! I
was shocked!! I figured it would end soon, but the money
just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about
$25.00. By the end of the second week I had made a total
of more than $1000.00!! In the third week I had more than
$10,000.00 and it's still growing!! This is now my fourth
week and I have made a total of $42,000.00 and it's still
coming rapidly. It's certainly worth $6.00 and six stamps,
and I have spent more than that on the lottery without
ever winning!!!
Let me tell you how this works and most important, why it
works.......... also make sure you print this out NOW, so
you can get the information off of it, as you will need
it. I promise you that if you follow the directions
exactly that you will start making more money than you
thought possible by doing something so easy!!
Suggestion: Read this entire message carefully!! (Print it
out or download it)
Follow the simple directions and watch the money come in!!
It's easy. It's legal. And, your investment is only $6.00
(Plus postage)!!!
IMPORTANT:
This is not a rip-off, it is decent; it's legal; and it is
virtually no risk - it really works!! If all the following
instructions are adhered to, you will receive
extraordinary dividends.
PLEASE NOTE:
Please follow the directions EXACTLY, and $50,000 or more
can be yours in 20 to 60 days. This program remains
successful because of the honesty and integrity of the
participants. Please continue its success by carefully
adhering to the instructions. You will now become apart of
the Mail Order business. You are in the business of
developing Mailing Lists. Many large corporations are
happy to pay big bucks for quality lists. However, the
money made from the mailing lists is secondary to income,
which is made from people like you and me asking to be
included in that list. Here are the four easy steps to
success.
STEP ONE: Get six separate pieces of paper and write the
following on each piece of paper "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR
MAILING LIST." Now get 6 U.S. $1.00 bills and place ONE
inside of EACH of the six pieces of paper so the bill will
not be seen through the envelope (to prevent thievery).
Next, place one paper in each of the six envelopes and
seal them. You now should have six sealed envelopes, each
with a piece of paper stating the above phrase, your name
and address, and a $1.00 bill. What you are doing is
creating a service.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL!!!!!
You are requesting a legitimate service and you are paying
for it!! Like most of us I was a little skeptical and
little worried about the legal aspects of it all. So I
checked it out with the U.S. Post Office (1-800-238-5355)
and they confirmed that it is indeed legal!!
Mail the six envelopes to the following addresses:
1) Andreas Swart
Hoornschediep 11
9727 GA Groningen, The Netherlands
2) W. Edens
4829 Bud Ln
Lexington, KY 40514
3) Richie Herminio
Block F , Eastgate Office Park
24 South Boulevard, Bruma 2198
P.O.Box 10474 , Johannesburg 2000
4) J. Safian
6950 W. Forest Presrv. Dr., #115
Norridge, IL 60706-1324
5) G. Takla
690 Adelaide Avenue East
Oshawa, Ontario, L1G 2A8
6) R. Changule
27 Julius Street Flat N0 2
Cosmopolitan View
Lynmeyer
Johannesburg 2000
South africa
STEP TWO: Now take the #1 name off the list that you see
above, move the other names up (six becomes 5, 5 becomes
4, and etc.) and add YOUR NAME as number 6 on the list.
STEP THREE: Change anything you need to but try to keep
this article as close to original as possible. Now post
your amended article to at least 200 news groups. :
(I think there are close to 24,000 groups) All you need is
200, but remember, the more you post, the more money you
make!! This is perfectly legal!! If you have any doubts,
refer to Title 18 Sec. 1302 & 1341 of the Postal Lottery
laws. Keep a copy of these steps for yourself and whenever
you need money, you can use it again, and again. PLEASE
REMEMBER that this program remains successful because of
the honesty and integrity of the participants and by their
carefully adhering to directions. Look at it this way. If
you were of integrity, the program will continue and the
money that so many others have received will come your way.
NOTE: You may want to retain every name and address sent
to you, either on a computer or hard copy and keep the
notes people send you. This VERIFIES that you are truly
providing a service. (Also, it might be a good idea to
wrap the $1 bill in dark paper to reduce the risk of mail
theft). So, as each post is downloaded and the directions
carefully followed, all members will be reimbursed for
their participation as a List Developer with one dollar
each. Your name will move up the list geometrically so
that when your name reaches the #1 position you will be
receiving thousands of dollars in CASH!!! What an
opportunity for only $6.00 ($1.00 for each of the first
six people listed above) Send it now, add your own name to
the list and you're in business!!!
*****DIRECTIONS FOR HOW TO POST TO NEWS GROUPS!!!*****
STEP ONE: You do not need to re-type this entire letter to
do your own posting. Simply put your cursor at the
beginning of this letter and drag your cursor to the
bottom of this document, and select 'copy' from the edit
menu. This will copy the entire letter into the computer's
memory.
STEP TWO: Open a blank 'notepad' file and place your
cursor at the top of the blank page. From the 'edit' menu
select 'paste'. This will paste a copy of the letter into
the notepad so that you will add your name to the list.
STEP THREE: Save your new notepad file as a text file. If
you want to do your posting in different settings, you'll
always have this file to go back to.
STEP FOUR: You can use a program like "postXpert" to post
to all the newsgroups at once. You can find this program
at <http://www.download.com>. If you don't understand how
it works you can email me at: mailto:andreass@orange.nl
(this is only when my name is in the list, so send a copy
of my address as well. put this in the header: make
millions very easy + my full name)
Use Netscape or Internet Explorer and try searching for
various new groups (on- line forums, message boards, chat
sites, discussions.)
STEP FIVE: Visit message boards and post this article as a
new message by highlighting the text of this letter and
selecting paste from the edit menu. Fill in the subject,
this will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll
through the list of postings in a particular group, click
the post message button. You're done.
Congratulations!!!!!!
THAT'S IT!! All you have to do, and It Really works!!!

emm386.exe on XP
I have a small DOS based program that was written for me
by a local programmer. It makes use of a Microsoft file
called emm386.exe. I used Windows 98 2nd edition and this
worked well.
I have now installed Windows XP, and the programme does
not want to work. It comes up with a message "No EMS
driver is installed". I need to use more memmory to get
the small (2mb) programme to operate.
What can I do with XP to activate the equavalent to
emm386.exe, and which gives a DOS programme access to
memeory in the PC above 1MB
I would appreciate any help in solving this problem, as
it seems that Microsoft SA dont have answers, or are too
inexperienced with this.

Program Hangs...
All,
I have just started using MM2 on a new computer. After many hangs and software restarts, I came here. I see I'm not alone. I went to Papa John's site for the fixes and started down the list.
I'm wanting to edit a 45 minute video, by this Saturday. This is what I have done so far to no avail...
1) Did a search on divxaf.ax. Not found on my computer. Is this not good?
2) Changed Hardware Acceleration to 3, still locked up. I have Directx 9b installed.
3) The computer has a Nvidia Geforce MX 440 w/ 64 MB DDR Memory. I ran Windows Update for new drivers for it, but nothing there. (The computer came with XP Home. I believe it should look for these types of updates. I have not had a new computer in 5 years, so I have a lot of catching up...)
4) Ran GSpot v2.21. It shows that there were a couple Arcsoft files missing, but seems ok for MM2
5) The tweak for Nvidia/Xp... I was unable to find on the listed site. May have been moved or I was just missing it.
I think that is about all...Any help would be greatly appreciated!

partial import syndrome
i can import most dv-avi files into MM2 with no problem.
however, certain files only get 'partially' imported.
case in point; i've captured some footage from my dvcam
that's 1.2GB, and lasts 6:20. however, once imported that
file is inexplicably reduced to only the first 20 secs!
there's no way of adjusting the capture size limit - i've
checked. and what's more, i've imported bigger files in
the past.
what gives???
any help greatly appreciated. Tag: not right color after rending Tag: 8956

I am wondering if it is possible to break up a large video

Once a particular section is finished, it seems wasteful

When i try to make a WMV file, or save it to a CD, it
fails and then gives me a message: "check to make sure my
source files are still availible, the destination location
is still available and the destination location has enough
space" -not in those words but that is what it says. I can
open and play and edit my movie no problem-so the source
files are still there and uncorrupted, and I even did a
test where i made a project the same lenghth (just
cutting and pasting)with the same source materials and it
worked! I have a ton of room on my computer too. I am at a
loss and desperately need help. thank you very much Tag: not right color after rending Tag: 8948
Making video tape of MM output
Can anyone pleass advise how I can save my MM movies to a
digital or Super VHS tape. I don't have a camera or VCR
with 1394 but do have each with S-Video input.
Thanks in advance,

Why does Auto Movie not work
The Auto Movie feature seems to create another version of
the storyboard without the selected background music and
tack it onto the end of the existing storyboard.
The Help led me to believe it would add background music
and produce a finisked film. Tag: not right color after rending Tag: 8943
Conflict between Movie Maker 2 and WinFax
It seems whenever I use Movie Maker I have to re download
Direct X 9 in order to restore the Answer Calls as Fax
option.
I also find that Movie Maker needs a new download of
Direct X fairly regularly otherwise the movie audio
sounds strange. Tag: not right color after rending Tag: 8942
