    - Can't access video clips I just started using M/M last week. At one point I decided to rename a collection. Once I did, all the individual clips appeared with a big red "X" in the middle and now cannot be accessed. 1. How can I recover them? 2.     - Help!!!! I am trying to do a few things. I am 1 day new at this Movie maker thing, and I am trying to 1. send a video clip to a Samusung cell phone and I think the format is 3.gp. Is there a way to reformat clips that have been made by my camcorder? 2. I would like to make a movie with the clips that have been sent from that same cell phone.     - movie maker - asf not displaying when played Hi, I'm Suzanne. I've been using movie maker for some time now, but I recently used another persons camera to take some clips. This camera has asf format and when I drag a clip into the storyboard and press play to view it, I can't see anything. Even though the clip is playing.     - Codec problem Something's wrong here; I'm trying to put some videos together but whenever I try to import them into WMM, it says: [File Location/Name] could not be imported. The required codec was not downloaded automatically because the Download codecs automatically check box is not selected in the Options dialog box.     - Crashes after seven clips I've been using WMM for years but I'm having endless problems with it on my new computer. Everything works fine until I have more than seven clips (either by adding a new clip or splitting one already in the timeline) but after this the program shuts down without warning or error message.     - Help!!! I have an older version of Movie Maker (I've tried to upgrade to version 2.1 but keep getting a fatal error, the blue screen, when I reboot, then I have to do a system restore). Anyway I created a project and in the older version it still lets me save it as an .avi file. I want to convert the .avi file to a DVD so it will play on a DVD player. Is my only option using MyDVD?     - Freezing and Skipping of Big AVI Files I'm putting together a large movie with pictures and large AVI files (for maximum quality) and my computer often freezes up. Some of the clips skip and every click of the mouse is followed by a delay in reaction. It seems like my computer is fighting to handle everything. I have shut down all running programs ie. anti-virus etc and it is still an issue. I have a Compaq Presario with 1GB and 200G of storage and a 2.4Ghz AMD processor. The hard drive is 80% full.     - Red X's on ALL Project Files All of the sudden, I am getting red x's in every project file I open. I have previously been able to open these with no problem. I have not moved a single file. If I right-click on the red x and search for the file, it says it can't be found. I can acutally pull up the picture it's looking for, click "open", and it still tells me it can't be found and it's right there in the search box!     - Movie Maker won't start For some reason, after I exit WMM, it won't restart when I tell it to. Turns out that moviemk.exe is still running. I have to use the task manager to kill it. Then WMM starts fine. Other than this oddity, WMM works fine. Any ideas? I'm running XP Pro, SP2, WMM 2.1. And I do have IE7 installed, though I think this was happening before that.     - How to split on import What do I do when filming, so that when I import the video it is already split? For example, if I fill a tape with 3 minute dances, is there something I do in filming between dances that Moviemaker will recognize and automatically split so that each dance is a separate video in the timeline and I don't have to go through a manually split?     - Can only import entire video I have a Sony HDR-FX1, and when I import into Moviemaker (latest version under Vista) and it gets to the screen saying "Do you want to import the entire video or just parts?", there is only one radio button selection, to import the entire video.     - Gaps in my video I've been using Windows Moviemaker for my XP for about 3 years now, and I've never really had a problem up until now. It seems that whenever I cut something in one of my video files, and I replay the edited clip, it pauses for about half a second and then plays. At first I thought it was just a glitch in the preview viewer. But as soon as save my project as a movie file and play it on Media Player, the glitches are still present every time there's a cut. I noticed that this happens only when the edited video file is an mpg, but I've never encountered any problems with that file type before. I've restored my default settings, I've played the video on a different player, I've even deleted and re-imported my files from the collections bin, nothing I do seems to alleviate the problem.     - Published video has black gaps Hi all Would be great if someone could provide any help. I imported various short avi clips and one continuous soundtrack into the Movie Maker project. In preview mode, it all works fine and then I publish it. The resulting file however, has several bits where the spliced clips are missing whilst the timer and soundtrack keeps running. The time slots in which the clips disappear become just black screens, until the next clip appears. There is nothing special about these missing clips and when I splice the missing clips into a new movie, they work. I've tried placing these clips into another part of the video and they come out fine. Has anyone experienced this before or have any idea about what's going wrong? Or perhaps you can point me in the way of someplace/someone who might be able to help. I've created other videos before and no such problems have appeared before.. Thanks very much in advance!     - Trimming the end off of a project I ave just finished a movie project but have one annoyance remaining. The material I added (video+audio) should end at 6:20 but the project keeps playing past until 10:54 and the stops. Everything after 6:20 is blank but I can't select it and trim it. If I write it out as a movie file ie .wma I get a file that is 10:54 long with nothing after 6:20 - just as it previews in Movie Maker. How can I trim this portion after 6:20 out? One thing I can add is that I dragged audio tracks into the project that were much longer than the original video content. However, I have trimmed them to fade out and end early so there is no audio past the 6:20 point.     - mpg movie with no preview in movie maker I have updated xp professional with service pack 2, downloaded all sort of codec but any movie imported with mpg doesnt preview. There is no problem with audio, it is the video i cannot preview so i cannot edit the movie.     - Movie Maker crashes converting HDV to wmv for 360 I just purchased and returned an HP Pavillion (2x4600 AMD, 2 g RAM) because Movie Maker crashed when publishing streamed HDV to the wmv format for XBOX 360.     - Editing of .mpg or .mpeg files I seem to be having an issue in WMM with editing .mpg/.mpeg files. It allows me to add them as the file to edit.     - Previously working .avi no longer work due to codec I had some .avi files that I imported into movie maker a couple of months ago, and they worled perfectly well (no codec error at that point). When I moved these files to a different folder on the computer, the imported files no longer worked. I understood that I had to re-import the files again from their new location. However, when I tried, it says that the required codec was not installed. I do not understand how this could happen since those files worked perfectly well in movie maker before, and I fail to see how the codec could have disappeared. When I import pictures to the movie maker they look great and the right size
but for some reason after they are saved and I go and play them the pictures
