Hi Folks,

I have what seems like a major problem to me, but will no doubt be easy for
you experts out there!

I have a movie file on my hard-drive which is 1.6 mega bits. I would like to
copy this to a disk and play it on my dvd player. The problem is I can only
use disks which are no more than 700mb and I would like to copy this file and
watch it on my dvd player. is there a way round this, such as splitting the
movie onto two disks or shrinking it. Do I need to get a special kind of
software??

Thans in advance for any help!!!!

Ta

Do you mean 1.6gb?

I suspect so.

What file type is it?

You could convert it to an mpeg1 VCD file, using something like vcdeasy,
nero, roxio etc.

Hi Graham,

thanks for responding. The file is AVI file, whatever that is. Do I have to
pay for the programs you mentione and which is the easyiest to use. I'm thick
when it comes to computers. Can I convert this file so I can watch it on DVD?

You can download the trial version of Ulead Movie Factory and that will
create the VCD for you.
http://www.ulead.com/dmf/trial.htm
Roxio does not have a free trial download.
Nero does but it does not include Nero Vision Express which is the program
needed to create the VCD.

I agree.
With all the DVD Creating I do Movie Maker and DVD Workshop are all I ever
use anymore.
I tried others so that I could comment on them on my website but always end
up back to Ulead.
