ntdll.dll error

Please help:

Problem: 19/20 times I try to open my very large movie file, the
program locks up with the error message of the faulting module
ntdll.dll (or 1/30 times it's a problem with mpeg2dmx.ax).

What I've done: I've tried to rename ntdll.dll and outright delete it
in attempt to remedy the problem. It cannot be deleted and when I
rename it the original file regenerates.

Importance: This movie is on deadline for my bosses so any help would
be extremely appreciated.

What size is the file? Over 2gb?

the movie file is 6.34 Mb now (as you can imagine it draws on hundreds
of pictures plus a lot of videos and songs)
